My screen goes blank, it shows that its running but im getting no response. I know for a fact my hardware is more than adequate to run it. Can someone help me?

Can you give us some info on your hardware?
(CPU speed, vid card, system memory, etc.)
Have you tried to run the game in software rendering mode?

Hi!
Without looking at your specs, I would say that it is a high probability of one of theese 2 problems. You may need the movie patch from the Eidos website if it crashes at the start when run, or I think this problem can arise if you select the incorrect MIDI port, as it loads as soon as the executable is run. Any help there?
Oh, and you have installed the available patches that are required for your PC, yes?
But, like Aaron said, your PC specs are very much needed to help you with your problem.
