I hate my comp...

...it hangs SOOOOO often!

I can't work 3 hours w/o hanging, crashing or simply quitting!
It's terrible: For 'bout 3 weeks, my comp really sux. He/she/it doesn't do what I want it to. He/she/it simply doesn't listen to me.

The ones who chat with me via ICQ know that I'm kicked quite often...
I hope Win XP is better than 98...at least I read it is...

Ahhh don't feel bad Alhexx because I go through the same thing all the time!
 
I don't....and I'm running Win98. Maybe you have a bad stick of RAM....or your case is just getting too hot.
 
my comp doesnt have that problem either. my comps probably been on for about 5 months.
 
Reinstall. Win9x does tend to lose stability if you keep installing/uninstalling/testing/upgrading software ... clean reinstall tends to sort stuff out. My cd burner just didn't work at all when I bought it... reinstall, and voila! one working cd burner.
 
Heh, I just did a reinstall this weekend.  It's a pain in the you-know-what.  98 is just lovely.  
I've got Linux on another PC here that I share the connection with, but my wife don't like it-and if mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy.  So we do both-and when it (98) tanks, I get blamed.

I'm gonna do a complete system cleanup when I get (silly) Win XP. Then, I'll format the whole hard disk (after backing up my files onto CD-R(W)s), then I'll change my Partitions and change my File System to NFTS (or sth liek that :wink: ). Then, everything should work... as for Linux:
I had SuSE Linux 7.0 ( http://www.suse.com ), but on my old comp (PII 266), I had no support for my modem. Now, in my new comp, I also have no support for my mainboard :sad: ...So I haven't got installed it...

I'm using Mandrake-suprisingly easy to install and haven't had any probs with incompatability (yet).
