I'd like to see more FFX hacking stuff!

So unfortunately it seems that yaz0r quit his work on FF stuff.  :cry:

Who will continue his work?
I really like to see more stuff like a FFX MAPviewer, a working extractor/rebuilder for the hidden filesystem, or a model and animation/event motion exporter.  :-P

i really wonder why you always care to modify old games like FFVII.
So why you don't touch newer FF games?  :?

At a guess, because FFX wasn't made for the PC unlike VII and VIII, and hence you won't be able to do any editing or see the results of your labours in-game. If you want to view all the pretty animations, just go play the game.  :-D
 
you don't know what i meant.

there are a lot tools for FFXI, mapviewers and such stuff, you can do the same for FFX, it don't care whether it is a console game or not.
pcsx2 is a great PS2 emulator, FFX is full compatible and you just need a dualcore processor to play it at fullspeed, there is your PC version  :-P
 
You can get FFXI for the PC, and so the data is easier to extract/play with. As for FFX, sure, you can use PCSX2 but that still doesn't mean you can easily write data back to modify it. In addition, you could say that the earlier FF games are not as complex in terms of data and internal workings, so are easier to take apart.
 
The most I've seen moded to FFK/K-2 was swapping some textures around to make the models nude ingame... Quite a sad thing really lol.

where did you get this? can you post a link?
 
I'd personally like to see more Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II stuff... I make papercrafts with them, including a life-sized model, but because of a lack of one model, I have to disappoint my 6-year-old daughter, there's a keyblade she wants. =P

That aside, should anyone want to work on such thing again, my suggestion would be to talk to Macbearchen ( http://macbearchen.blogspot.com/ ), he would likely be more willing to help than yaz0r. It would be nice to see more done.

I have plans to work on FFX but a bit later. I want this data for Q-Gears engine. =)
