Introduction and ignorance level

Hey, all. I'm Kolris. (Obviously) I'll get straight to the point: I know this is probably going to make me sound like a complete idiot, but where can I even get FF8 PC? I've got a copy of it, but I don't know how to use it. I tried burning the install disc to a DVD-RW and install it from there, but doing that froze my entire computer and I had to reboot and run a diagnostic to make sure everything was ok. That's about the extent of my technical knowledge, so that brings me to my other point. I really would like to know how to program, but again, I have no clue as to where to go online to do so. My funds for anything are pretty much non-existent, so I would need to find something that's free to use. Final Fantasy VIII was my first FF game and I really want to play it again, even if I can't find a copy of it for my PlayStation, so if anyone has any information at all on either of my queries, I'd be ecstatic to hear it. Unless the rules have changed while I was typing this post, piracy (Which is what I surmise you participated in) isn't supported, wanted, or remotely tolerated. Although, since you've indicated you wish to obtain a legitimate copy:
