Haha I know what you mean. I'm a guitarist also, but fortunately I'm not smart enough to manage both that AND modding, since on the modding side....I'm useless ;-)
I am however pretty damm decent on a Gibson :-P

Modding isn't very hard when you understand how the codes work, and if you know what you're doing so i bet you could manage it

I'm able to manage it now, but at first it was like trying to shove a brick up my nose. To me it's the same thing as learning algebra, you learn how it functions in that scenario, everything needs to be checked in order with this relying on that.

Modding is probably one of the things I do the least. I spend way more of my time with everything else. Had I been paid for this, I would have built Cloud from the ground up from scratch and probably have most of the characters done by now.

Lol maybe one day you'll get bored and actualy try to completely remodel cloud from scratch :-D
I havent seen this for myself but people say that you can't import a perfect model of any kind (i mean graphic wise) because according to most modders here, the game can't support that resolution.

Anyway what i'm trying to get at is if you can figure a way to get around the resolution problem then you could essentialy remake most of the models and quite possibly the whole game.

It almost pains me to look in this thread anymore.
The models look godly. Yet.. you can't... release them...
*Sob*

I can see what you mean, You get to see this great model being used that you wish had a patch uploaded but unfortunately you just can't get your hands on it.

This time Otokoshi said that you can't read, not that you're a necroposter.
"in your case necroposting"

yeah he totaly didn't call me a necroposter
No Xelane, dziugo is right.  Notice how I said "in your case necroposting", because it only pertains to you, because apparently you enjoy doing it.  I guess it would be unfair to say that you can't read, which I don't believe I said directly.  Personally I think it's worse when someone that can read chooses to not read, ergo making an ass out of oneself.
Yeah, sorry for putting words in your mouth. I was just worried that someone might not understand what I was trying to say.

No offense but you just made a comment that was irrelivant to the conversation that we're having.

I have plans on making a Legend of Zelda mod for FFVII, I drew up some designs and concept when I should have been writing notes in math class.

I can release THAT!

Now THAT would be awesome.

I don't know if this is a right place to post my trouble, since I don't really want to create a  new topic much. Well I have use a patch that replace Cloud model from the last battle to normal battle. I think some of you know this patch. The problem is, it can not work under highres, (terminate right after entering battle) and even not under highres, after a couple of battles, the program crashes.

Does anyone have a solution?

I wouldn't know that one, don't forget, I'm a noob too!  I just somehow figured out how to use these programs to get some models in the game, it only took me since January!

but in the mean by here's a Work in Progress of Sephiroth!

I'm liking the hair.  It reminds me of how it looks in Crisis Core.

Hey, umm correct me if I'm wrong, apz, but that's a solid deformable mesh you used for Sephiroth's hair isn't it?
Now, I had heard a rumor once that there was a deforming model of cloud, in the PC version, that was never used, but in all my looking, I never found it. So, hence I believed deforming models were impossible to use in FFVII.... may I ask how you made Seph's hair? Is it my imagination, 'some cruel illusion of fate,' or is it really a deforming mesh O.o; If it is, then there is hope for my talents yet. (I don't much care for segment meshes really...)

Nope sorry, no deforming mesh. :-D Just strategic placement of the segments. I have a knack for using things in ways they're not supposed to be used. The resolution is so low you can't see the minuscule gaps in the hair. But I positioned them so that they line up perfectly with the animations.

I would like to think I'm THAT good at re-working the FFVII game engine. But in reality all I did was use my attention to detail coupled with all the wonderful programs on this site made by us fellow fans. I'm no genius! I just have an eye for what looks good, or at least good enough  These little models aren't water tight ya know!

But this game isn't really suited to show off modeling skills on anyway. Hence why I'm not building the models myself, rather I'm ripping and modifying existing models into this form. I suggest you dazzle us with some character renderings of these FFVII characters that you built from scratch. I'd totally bow down to you for that!  Not to mention it's quite a portfolio stuffer!

by the way.... SEPHIROTH'S DONE!!!!!!!!!

Enjoy! Although I must mention again, I will not release these, the pictures are all that I can share, and I never ripped anything from Crisis Core.

I ripped this Sephy from Kingdom Hearts 2 (I like that version's hair and face better than the Kingdom Hearts 1's version)

and as always I'll post these new Sephy pictures on the first post of this thread for convenience!

So everyone says... but that doesn't look like the KHII Sephiroth outfit... at least not the Seph I murdered....(nor the one from the files I dumped from the disc) Plus... that's the SOLDIER belt that's on all the Crisis Core models...

As I well understand, you can't give me the model, but could you tell me the name of the file, and the version/country/etc. of your KHII?
Also, if it isn't a direct rip, could you tell me where you got the awesome texture for the model?

On a slightly different yet related note, as the same people did the modeling for CC as KH, it stands to reason that there may be some similar file types on the CC disc, and... with some work, it may be possible to rip those as well... (though I really swear someone already has ¬ ¬;  )

EDIT: And that SD Cloud is creepy... X_x;

I'm not trying to taunt anyone! No more than Squeeble or anybody else on this board who did the same thing first before me!

The reason my modified Sephiroth looks different is because I added those differences on my own. Personally I wasn't too crazy about the red lined coat with wings growing out of his butt! So... I chopped all that off, changed the texture file and built a few costume articles that weren't there before. It may be possible to ripp from Crisis Core, but I don't know of anyone who has yet!

I know it's from Kingdom Hearts 2, because I ripped it  :-D I put the soldier belt in there myself, it wasn't there before! I got the texture by copy and pasting from Crisis Core Screenshots. That's about as close to ripping from Crisis Core as I ever got. I don't even own a psp!

I look at it this way, what I did was take the Kingdom Hearts Sephy, and dress him in the Crisis Core one's cloths.
