Kitase - "We might do Final Fantasy VII-2"

Old news, not sure if reported or not. It's only a couple of Months old:

Final Fantasy producer Yoshinori Kitase has spoken about the tantalising prospect of making Final Fantasy VII-2.

Asked whether Square Enix might make a direct sequel to the much loved game PSone game, FF XIII-2 producer and VII director Yoshinori Kitase told CVG's E3 agents:

"It would have to be really big budget title. It would take a long time and a lot of money to make that. We would be interested given the opportunity, but obviously we'd have to see, round up the best staff, and we'd have to look at the situation in the market to see if it's good timing for us... At the moment we've got no plans... We might do it."

So it seems that, given enough of a budget, as well as on opportunity, they'll do it. There was a bit of a whole left at the end of Cerberus...

I'd like it, but I'm not sure if it's a good idea.

I guess this story will go like this. Genesis wakes up!! smiles wickedly... I have one black wing and I'm cool like sephiroth he says. Turns out Genesis was Sephiroth's brother and jenova's second son. What are the odds?? (For Square it's a common story). Suddenly Aeris comes back to save the day with an army of Ancients and Angeal is her lost son which she gave away during her prostituting years. In the end Genesis will find Sephy merge with him call Grand cross and a white pony will come and kill us all. The ancients will lose and the only one who can save us are.... I don't want to give spoilers... So i want say it's a small thing with a red apple-like ball over it's head and looks exactly like it's twin brother kupo :P See ??? i can't wait to see this going live on ps5 xD

Probably 2 years later after Midgar has become an environmentally friendly town using recycling to give power to the city to everything inside the city.  :-X :P

A sequel to 7 that concentrates on genesis is not needed, you can read into the ending of dirge of cerberus that rather than being a bad guy he will know be doing good in the world
 
I'd only be okay with this, if they recon everything after ff7, and do something different.
I really think AC was over rated, ESPECIALLY the "new costumes". All I see anymore is "Cloud AC mod" this, and "Cloud AC mod" that. Ooo, a skirt and an arm sleeve. I'm sorry but his original outfit worked best, and I liked his hair longer.
I was one of the biggest Cloud fanboys around my area, and even I thought he looked stupid. It really bummed me out.
I did like the KH 1 outfit, but only because it also nodded towards Vincent.

I'll get off my soap box now.

The only good thing to come out of AC are tifa's and yuffie's outfit. sorry, just not a fan of suspenders :/

I dont think they need to make a sequel. I would much prefer a remade FFVII (no story changes, only graphical/sound). The sad thing is if they made a sequel i would most likely buy it. I havn't had a good rpg fix in a while.
 
I dont think they should continue especially with the wrong staff etc it would give a different message about ffvii especially for the newcomers who didnt play the 1st ffvii yet if they want they could upscale graphics make some slight changes and release it many of ny friends newbies was interested of playing ffvii but after they heard it was a ps1 game they switched off

That's sad for them that they would be so ignorant...  Obviously another lot who only care for graphics.
