So, how exactly do you go about creating avatars that change? Presumably you could do it in PHP, swapping image files every request?

Admins are just able to do that. Ammo Bandito (I think) was always a different cat pic.
 
@Bosola: Yep, you're doing it.

@Nameless Face: It's not that halkun and Jari are admins.  They're able to do it simply because they know how.
 
I know how to do it too, I just have nowhere to upload the script to
 
My avatar is a different chocobo every time the page reloads. :P Maybe I'm an admin!
 
If only Millenia's server space thingy didn't remove access to folders every time I added a .htaccess file...
...Not that I have much need for a rotating avatar, anyway.

That IS a lot, but how alike are they? I bet you can't beat the similar-ness of mine. They're practically the same!
