Hehe here is why:

It was Nomura's idea for Aerith to die and Tifa to become the main heroine. In the beginning there was Aerith and no Tifa. Then one Sunday night, during a phonecall to Yoshinori Kitase (Director), he said "Let's kill Aerith and bring out Tifa". They never had a type of story where there were two heroines and one dies.

For Tifa, he could not decide between pants or a mini-skirt, so he passed his sketches around the office and the majority liked the mini-skirt. On the other end, 'Long Skirt' was Aerith's trademark.

The truth is revealed :P

So no bringing back Aerith from dead, no other ending :P

umm... I want to post something worthwhile but I don't think there's much truth or reason for this post... why is this even in the General forum? Seems like something that belongs in Completely Unrelated or... Hell. :-?

You can bring Aerith back. Not in game, but with a Gameshark. I put it in once a few years after finishing it, and she was exactly how she was before she died. Level, materia, all that crap, same rod, all that stuff. I was actually suprised, but it doesnt work, its just not apart of the game.

i tried that too, but didnt find any code for it

Revive Aerith:
8009CBDE FF03
Turn off the GameShark before loading a saved game with this code. Empty the third slot of your party. Example: You are currently using Cloud as your first character, Tifa as your second character and Yuffie as your third character -- remove Yuffie. Turn on the GameShark. Note: This code is best used on Disc 3.

It obviously requires a much older version of the Gameshark, the one that loads into the back port of the Playstation and has that switch.

But it does work.

wow thx.

But like I said, it requires the much older Gameshark and the first PS1 model, or the earlier ones.

You need the one with the back port. The early models have the back ports, then later on they made the newer models with no back port, and then they came out with that small economy-sized one that it sold now. I think the Gameshark Version needed for it may be Versions 2 or Higher.

I still think there were plans of a resurrection, that got cut, either because of time, or purposely cut for a dramatic effect. Maybe both....were true. Maybe because of time restraints, an alternate ending was dropped. You know....Shadow Hearts....awe never mind, I don't want to spoil it.

There are too many little things, that point to a resurrection....such as Red13's Grandpa's speech. (can you tell...I can't pronounce it, thus can't spell it), the mirrors that don't do anything in that ancient city.... The Materia Natural fountain, in Nibiliem (sp). Tifa saying that it wasn't Aeris' intention of dying. The infamous picture of Aeris looking at the Highwind. And why did Marline say "the flower girl?", during the ending movie. Just little things that seem, out of place. There is even pieces of dialog for Aeris, if you do that hack, of getting her back into the party, that were left in the game.

I've heard people say the same, I personally beleive everyhting you've just said Threesixty, but people say the speech left in the game would be the same should you have vincent, yuffie or any other char in your party at that point...IMO those littles things really DO point towards a resuraction sequence.

And on another note.  That one feild file that was found, that was 3 screens high, with no walkmeshes on it...I've just remembered....could that not be the feild file for when sephhy is in the materia and cloud gives him the
black materia
?

It's identical to a scene in the "weapons escaping" video. I am assuming that the hidden cave or whatever, has NOTHING to do with Aeris's death, and was more likely used to lay out the positions of the characters on the ground in that movie's overlay. Just a guess though. I whole-heartedly doubt that Aeris was ever intended to be resurrected. Sakaguchi made this game as an exploration of life, in memorial of his departed mother. The natural materia fountain in Nibelheim was only there to give Sephiroth a reason to explain what materia are in the Nibelheim flashback. Aeris is looking at the highwind because she DOES see it, and she tells cloud she wants to ride in it some day. And Marlene said "The Flower Girl?" because she knew that it was Aeris casting Holy, and directing the lifestream. Which brings us to the biggest reason that Aeris never was meant to be brought back. If she was, meteor would have destroyed the Planet. There would have been nothing to stop it. Nothing. For Aeris to have been resurrected, it would have had to be a different game with a different story. And Sakaguchi has said that he was working on this story from early into production on FF6, when his mother died. It was never intended for Aeris to be revivable. Deal with it, Fanboys. :P

Thats the scene I meant!!! the weapon escape scene....Hell, Even if aeris was supposed to come back...I wouldn't use her.

The thing is, I had all my healing materia with Aeris, so she died with it and lost all the Masters...
GODDAMN YOU!!!
*ahem*

before i started playing FF7 my mate told me that she's gonna die, so i never played with her and no materia were on her  :)

But the second time i started playing i wanted everything ingame so i played with her and even got her final limibreak(i had to train alot).

all this was on psx.

Can anyone tell me at what point of the game she dies at?
(Disc 1, Disc 2, Disc 3) and where, (Beginning, Middle, Near the End)

Is there even a point of me training her ? (kinda in the MIDDLE ish area of disc 1)

*PC VERSION*

Thanks!

Well, there is a point in training her, because in the middle of the game around where she dies (Not exactly when, a little before she does), you will be forced to have her in your party, and you cannot switch her out, and you will have to go into a boss battle with her.

As the exact disc, I dont really know.

I still think there were plans of a resurrection (...)

Spoilers ahead -

I still don't understand why so many people can't accept the fact that Aerith had to die (It's not a campaign against you Threesixty, it's just the matter that the topic of resurrection was moved). There could not be plans of resurrecting her -- it's inevitable to the storyline. And I don't mean the fact that that Sephiroth kills her - the matter is about Holy. She prayed for it. And her soul HAD to reach the planet for it to work. Listen closely to what Bugenhagen has to say about Holy. If you tried to get her soul back before reaching the planet it would mean death for the planet. I can't get it why so many people have such an infant attitude to the fact - death of a character isn't taboo for a game, so why whenever such a thing happens, not many can accept the fact and start making theories up? Going over the top with "get Aerith by killing Cheese Weapon and giving the Sandwich to the Silver Chocobo" etc. is quite immature. Tis the same with the fact that not many can understand that Cloud had a very strong and quite intimate relationship with Zack - what happened afterwards has a strong effect on Cloud's general behaviour - FFVII is strony psychological, and understanding that helps understanding the characters. It was the same with Sephiroth and Cloud - but that part would need a longer explanation, and I guess I will soon make a topic about it..

As I said before, there IS a way to get her back, but not in the story...

But you're gonna have to dig through to find an old enough PS1 with the port/old enough Ganeshark  :P
