McDonalds: we have trademarked "Mc"!

Wow, it's a good thing McDonalds lost this case; if they hadn't, I'm sure there would have been a lot of restaurants in Scotland getting sued :lol:
Yeah you're not kidding. There's actually a McDonald's bakery in Scotland in Glasgow City Centre that I pass everyday on my way to work, it has no affiliation with McDonald's whatsoever and there are two next door to each other on the same street. There are so many "Mc" places here, usually named after the owners. McHargs bakers, etc.

I can't believe they tried to trademark "Mc", they'd have the right to sue me for my second name!
 
I wonder whether it's just "Mc", or whether they want to copyright "Mac" as well, since they're basic the same patronymic. They might want to sue Apple for their Macintosh (or should that be MacIntosh? :-D)

On that note didnt apple try to trademark the 'i' before products like ipod and imac?
 
Which would put Imogen Heap right up shit creek, considering she puts small "i"'s before everything.

"iMegaphone" For example.
