Men are becoming too effeminate nowadays

Someone posted this topic in the other board i go to. (definitely one of the manliest forums out there)
anyways the thing is back then we had badasses like Rambo or GI Joe and of course all the super heros from batman to iron man. Nowadays men are pussys. It's disgusting to see guys that look like girls being glorified. Since when did fags like taylor lautner (he's 5'6'') or J beiber become sex symbols? (for tween girls.....) Im a fan of good old fashion manliness. Dominant, alpha male, self-assured, physical emotional mental strong. Not Justin Beiber and Jonas Brothers (I could probably beat up the Jonas brothers all at once) But look at real life, how are those 5'3'' 100 pound fags getting girls when dating them would make a girl borderline lesbian? my idea of a man is someone who confronts danger. not someone who cries with his girlfriend when shit happens. someone who deals with the problem not with his emotions by cutting or some faggy shit like that. just depressing how society is promoting a bunch of beta males who look like you can walk all over them....
 
I have a feeling you would LOVE the south park episode where mickey mouse beats the crap outta the Jonas brothers, and yeah there needs to be an ep with beiber getting pwnt by mickey too. My theory is there was an estrogen experiment going on in hollywood and something exploded and released it into the air and now all the men over there are growing a Uterus as we speak.
 
well, i almost was afraid you'd insult guys with long hair (i have long hair) but thats basically the only thing i have in common with these weirdos, im more than happy to beat the holy hell out of someone who annoys the heck out of me, but i agree with you guys (or girls, whateva) that these guys are... weirdos, sellouts, and losers who think they're big, ah well, i'll continue to do what i do.... kickin back, beating idiots who've no brain power up, and tryin hard as hell to get a damn job :P
 
In my experience, at least in real life, those dominant alpha male types are jackasses. Every last one of them. They're the dipwads who turn their car radios too loud. They're the idiots who get drunk and cause car accidents. At 20 years old they're jocks and fratboys, and at 40 they're in prison. Meanwhile, the rest of us are busy being productive.

I'd like to see more men who can be genuinely manly, not fake manly alpha-male-to-disguise-his-insecurities manly. There was an episode of the Fresh Prince where Carlton and Will were on a double date, and the girl Will was with was being a complete bitch. Carlton stood up at the table, and chastised her manners. He was quite manly, took control of a problem situation, but wasn't any dumbass poser shit like Rambo.

Muscles and guns aren't any manlier than being a teenager, just more annoying.

oh well thats true, any guy who just tries to put on a weak facade is a loser. got this one guy in town like that, i've been fighting with the guy sinse kindergarden, tries to use me as the butt of his jokes too.

Unfortunantly I'm caught somewhere in between cause I mostly hung out with girls over guys. So a few conversation mannerisms come through and some think I'm queer. Most of the alpha's I can kick their a55e5 in. And still hold an intelligent conversation. Basically white knight to all. Do I think I'm beta or a puss, nope! I'm just not a dumba55 either.

Maybe since studies have been showing that women prefer feminine men for long-term partners?
(Not that anyone cares, but they're also currently postulating what the effects of putting women on hormonal birth control does to their "natural selection" process of a mate, since hormones apparently influence their preference naturally.)

Also, I agree with Covarr, I don't really feel like meatheads are the more productive members of society.

it really depends on how you display it. CEO's and executives display this alpha male quality. leadership. just because you're dominant doesn't mean you have to be an idiot about it. look at the past presidents. the strong are remembered and revered the weak have faded into obscurity. look at Abraham Lincoln generally considered one of Americas best presidents (ignoring the south of course). He was one of the strongest presidents out there, very dominant, very alpha, he used to wrestle. He displayed these leadership qualities, and many people believe he was a great leader. his successor is andrew johnson, weak man, pretty incapable. of course i agree if you are an idiot than of course you will be in jail at 40.

@opine, women prefer masculine men for short term especially when they are on their period. but i'd always imagine that masculine men still have an advantage over effeminate men because they'd have a better hook, then they can pull them in with personality. or they are more dominant (size = intimidation), which displays confidence better. (id think the advantage goes to masculine men here, imo, because the can get those ONS much much easier. long term relationships are built on personality more than looks)

Likes take some steps back through the ages in terms of "heros" and other male "role models" You'll see that starting around late 90's these effeminant boys start popping up. When before it was always things like Terminator, Tarzan, Marvel Heroes, John Carter (chronicles of mars), Jim Bowie, Samurai, Knights, Robin Hood, etc... Probably the whole effeminant boy thing started with Peter Pan. kids may get confused when the boy on stage has tits....

Andrew Johnson's failures were not as a result of weakness, but of arrogance and narrow-sightedness. He was so focused on winning some imagined battle with congress, all he ever did was vetoed bills. He had no real ideology, no real beliefs or goals, beyond trying to beat the system.

It's actually during ovulation. So, while women might prefer feminine men 3/4 weeks a month, they are most likely to have a fling (or an affair) with a beefcake. But her chances of picking a stable mate that's feminine are higher 3/4th of the time.

Also, these studies were done solely on photos, not personality. So based on looks alone, women appear to prefer feminine men more than macho men.

i mean that personality plays a bigger role in long term relationships. in a ONS women probably dont care about personality. its just a study of women who think would make a better mate right? not one of actual mates? so i was thinking (just hypothetical) that masculine men perhaps have that hook in the short term. and perhaps the short-term transfers to the long term. i just think its kinda hard to judge a long term partner just by looks (and probably means very little).

yeah cloud strife in advent children kinda bugs me cause he's all girly.

OH LAWL, I don't believe that girls' preference in men varies depending on their cycle. At least my taste in men does not vary this way, it is quite stable. :P Maybe I'm just weird.

I can't speak for every girl out there cuz you know, to each her own, but I've gone through a period in my life where I liked effeminate guys, mostly asians. That was when I was from 12-15 years old. Then I changed my mind or something. Manly men suit me most because they make me feel more lady-like. :P I don't wanna feel like I'm dating someone who's almost as feminine as me. >.>

No worries, most people (even Americans) don't know any American history between Lincoln and Wilson. And Andrew Johnson happens to be my least favorite president, but most favorite to talk about.

Yeah, Jimmy Carter was pretty weak, especially right after Reagan. Perfect example.
