is there anybody who can send me a list of modding tools inlcluding importers and a place to download the textures? possibly some links?

all i REALLY wanted was to know how to get started since im new to this. i have ideas that i would like to create for the game.

Oo! I hope it's something new! Like you want to add something or a new character or what?
 
well for starters i would like to re-texture all the Weapon monster (especially ruby) to make them look a lot meaner in field and in battle, a re-texture or remodel of the highwind and submarine. I want to redo all the turks and make some more detailed chocobos. enemy texture/models (soldiers, monsters, etc). i would love to do some cloud models of my own one day as well as the rest of the team. make materia look more like the ones in advent children. just a whole world of thing i would like to do with this game. i could list more but it would take forever and as you can tell i'm not very good at really describing what I'm going for here lol.
 
actually yes i would absolutely love to make some new characters...but i have to learn how to mod first...

If you want to learn how to model, I don't know if this is really the place for you.  Granted we do have some people who are pretty skilled at modeling and texturing, but you might be better off going to a blender or 3dsmax forum and learning the basics. 

But by all means feel free to stay and contribute what you can.  As for your initial questions, as you familiarize yourself with the site, you will stumble on them.

Sounds good, good luck to ye, would love to see remodeled Turks battle models.
