Hey, don't forget the Secret of Mana series!

Epecially the multi-player mode.  It's really cool to have your character about to be KO'd when your friend (who's sitting right next to you, and NOT somewhere over the internet) saves your butt.  And then, of course, there's the hours and hours of fighting over who gets to drive Flammie......  :P

Goku7: I'm not sure what you meant by that, but I think you can do multi-player battle control in FF9 too. Never tried it though

Hmm, for some reason I seem to remember posting this before, strange.

Anyway, I havent played many RPGs, only FF7, FF8, FF9, Xenogears, and a bit of FF6 and Chrono Trigger, so:

1) FF7
2) Xenogears
3) FF9
4) FF8

I've heard FF6 is out on PS1 in the UK now, is it true? And what's it like? Are there improved graphics and stuff? If it is out I'm definitely getting it.

No improved graphics.  It has three movies, and an enemy database, but I don't like the PS version because the load times are awful.

1.)FFX
2.)FF7
3.)FF6
4.)FFIX
5.)Chrono Trigger

i would've put ff9 as number 2 but i think the main characters were to child like in appeareance. and FFX was a great game in it's the only one
in which the romance wasn't fullfilled

Well personally I'd said the best Square game I've played is FF7. FF8 was nice as well, I love it...... esp. the lvlling up system, etc. FF9..... not really my type.... the card game isn't as good (vs FF8's). Sigh. Heh.

The multiplayer aspect of FF9 is essentially the same as the one in FF6.

As for Secrect Of Mana, think simultaneous multiplayer 2-D Zelda.  What I meant by it was that your friends are physically sitting right by you, cause it's a SNES game.

I WON'T listen to anyone else's opinions until they have beaten Chrono Trigger. That is all there is to it. If you haven't played it, you can forget about calling yourself a gamer.

I have, and try playing Dragon Quest 6. You will have a lingering, famillar feeling....

and FFX was a great game in it's the only one.....

whoo! that's probably the best that I've heard about FFX.  and FFVIII is cool in the fact that you can't be Rickish (meaning gaining levels until everything is pathetically easy) in it because everything gains levels with you.  SO it makes it more of a stratagy RPG, and since I don't ever gain levels in the first place it makes it easier for me...

lol there is no contest that the worst RPGs ever were
Evolution and Evolution II by UbiSoft... those games sucked.
My only other non-like rpg is Diablo II... Im not sure what exactly makes this game unlikable, but it repulses me for some reason...

Best RPG of all time (excluding current PC compatibility):  FF7

(EDIT:  You will all be happy to know that I took out a rather descriptive description of what Evolution, in my opinion, DOES...)

the pc compatibility of ff7 was fine when it was released :)

another good rpg: icewind dale

Most Liked:
Final Fantasy Series especially since FFVI

Most Hated:
Dragon Quest Series

Why are The Legend of Zelda games RPG's? Aren't they strategy/adventure?  :-?

I don't think that the Zelda series can be considered an RPG.  It has hardly any RPG elements.  It's more of an adventure game.

the new ones more so. the older ones were better about almost being rpgs

The Legend of  Zelda Games are the CoolNess!  And so what if they were all hack and slash, you actually have to make an effort to play them.

i agree with you, but your comment has absolutely no relevance to the topic we are discussing.

Darkness:  Since SFX1999 brought up the Zelda Games, I decided to express my opinion.
