my lightsaber animation

so, i made this lightsaber animation on sony vegas, my first one

files used:

a picture of a lightsaber hilt
sony vegas
lightsaber sound effect
2 solid white media generated pictures from sony vegas's nifty little list

this took me a long time to do, because for the first half i was adjusting every single frame, and then i found out halfway through i didn't need to do that

so here it is:

lol it's purple like Mace Windu's lightsabre AKA the GangstaSabre. Nice choice.

Anyone else find it odd that Samuel L Jackson was the only black character in the entire Star Wars sextilogy, and that he was also the only one with a purple lightsabre? Jedi segregation, much?

yeah, i actually needed my brothers help because of my colorblindness

i've toyed with this stuff in the past, have a few vids up. I always used ls maker, as i was a video nub back then, but it works quite nicely regardless (i prefer the effect to what most ppl do in after effects) yours looks quite good, though i find the white of the blade pulses a bit too much.

- tried a bit of lighting with glowsticks n stoff, didnt work too well

- thers a lightsaber segments starting around 4:45, the audio got cut, but you'll see the effect.

the reason the white pulses a bit to much is, i think because of three reasons

1: i wanted it to be more like the lightsabers in the original trilogy

2: its moving slower so its much easier to focus on that

3: there are 2 bars, white and purple, and there both the exact same size, just 2 different blur types, thats how its done in sony vegas

It shows. The first half looks really jittery and awkward, the second half looks much better.
