Well, I got one running, but its VERY unstable. like it crashes every 5 minutes. anyone know of any good HTTP daemons?

I use BadBlue to test out the Remake site ... fairly small & easy to setup.

I was running an Apache Server to test my Board - it ran quite good, but it took quite a long time to configure it...

ok, i downloaded the httpd_2_0_28-beta-win32.zip file, or whatever. now what do i do?

ok, i got apache going, and im attempting to get newspro going, i think i got all of the permissions set, and the folder executes, but i still get an internal error.

says i need perl 5.001 in the readme. does apache come with that? im currently downloading activeperl, but i have no idea where id install it to........

chmod: Impossible on Windows, even if you FTP into a windows system you can't chmod because Window's security model doesn't work the standard way...running Win98 none of your files are protected anyway so it shouldn't matter.

Can't help you with your problems. You can download the official perl from somewhere, just unzip it to somewhere IN YOUR PATH. That is important. All the executables (perl, httpd etc) should be in the PATH environment variable, which is set up in autoexec.bat.

Also try searching on "windows apache howto", perhaps someone has written a howto on it and then most of your troubles should be over (if the howto author knows his/her stuff that is).

great idea. it worked great. im currently at the newspro login page. ill see if the permissions matter

haha my little server now has perl 5, php4, and my download of MYSQL will be done in an hour

ok, i finally get everything running, and phpbb uses includes, the ONE thing my server doesnt support! AAARRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!!
