ok then, thank you for helping me :) also i need to install the mods  again right? or probably redo everything?

I'd recommend you download again. Remember to delete everything inside the the C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\7thWorkshop folder before you open 7H again.

ok i used the link you gave me ...
1. Uninstall Final Fantasy VII.
2. Delete all the junk files in the game directory.
2. Run this to clean FF7 registry keys

when using the GC it says its already been patched if i try to overwrite it gives a failed to find languages
i also reinstalled ff7 into C:\Games\Final Fantasy VII

i also did the deleted 7thworkshop folder

Run the GC and choose to Unpatch first. Then you can run again and patch.

telling me to put a path to data/movie but that folder doesnt exist

nvm its fine now but still no sound saying something couldnt be found in the game and i havent used 7th heaven yet

You should have sound. There is a music\vgmstream folder and the music files are in there. This is where the Aali's driver pulls the music from.

Yes, the GC should have moved the music files from the data\music_ogg folder to the music\vgmstream folder. This means the GC did not work properly for you. Post your FF7_GC.log for me please.

here you go :)

data\music_ogg folder, there is music type files but nothing to do with ogg folder no folder at all in data/music

Ok, you're running original 1998 game discs? I think I know the "issue" now, though it's not really an issue. The 2012 Square Enix Store and 2013 Steam releases have the updated data\music_ogg folders with looping OGG music files. The original game had the .midi files in data\music. This isn't a problem for you, as you just need to download the Media - Music and Sound category from the Catalog and run one of the music mods there.

I may have to make a 2nd GC for anyone using the original game discs, and have it place the original music in the music\vgmstream folder. That's only needed if you want to play with music and without downloading the Media - Music and Sound category from the Catalog.

Does the opening movie with Aerith/Midgar play for you?

yea i am using the 1998 disc
ok so without mods when i start i still cant see anything there is no aerith/midgar cutscene just black and sound effects with the text box "come on new comer"

in data/music the music type files but not midi format back in data file there is a data/midi folder
i am planning on using the music mod but that didnt change a thing after i downloaded and installed it
i have ff7  steam version could i rip the music from that and put in data/music/ogg folder?

No, I'm worried about the part in your FF7_GC.log where it didn't recognize the movies folder. You then appeared to have typed in the wrong location for the data\movies folder, so it tried creating one for you and it's in the wrong location.

If you have the Steam version, I'd use that. It has been what I've run most my tests on. I can install the original discs sometime later and problem solve this stuff myself. At this point, we're running in circles when we could move forward with the Steam version.

ok sorry about that but i personally know alot more about this stuff thanks to you :) i guess i made a bad choice with using the 1998 version but hey the box looks cool lol

maybe i Cloud will defeat your dad before you do haha no final limit break for you!(i think)
