New Final Fantasy XI Benchmark

Square Enix has released a new version of the Final Fantasy XI benchmark tool. This program will show you if your PC is fit to play this upcoming Final Fantasy MMORPG. The new release of this tool offers a high resolution graphics mode, a new map, and a special demo mode.

Weighing in at 54MB, compared to the old one, I think I'll wait til uni until I download it.  :)

According to the description, the graphics should be better, so hopefully that unusual anti-aliasing-type effect on the edge of objects won't be there? The demo should be interesting, too. :)

Maybe i will run it as a joke.. :) when i get more time however.. :) i will let you all know how crappy my pc is .. ha

My scores are...

4177 -L
3022 -H

Looks neat.

[EDIT]
And I shall add my specs...

Athlon XP 2100+
GeForce Ti4200
Windows 98 SE

Now why are your scores lower than mine vvalentine?

I blame windows XP

Nice computer!   3240-L and somewhere around 2200-H here.

I got around 3000-L, but that was probably due to the fact that most of the models and stuff weren't even showing up. :P
The demo just brought me back to desktop, but I'm not surprised with a graphics card that doesn't even support overlays.

What a bunch of crap i gotta wait 40 minutes for the download to start!? how stale is that.. perhaps its cuz its a sunday.. oh well.. i guess i will just chill :) i will have the worst score on the board.. guarenteed.. almost..

I downloaded it and looked at it... looks neat...  Hi-res looks nice, but they still have some wierd FSAA effect going on in there.
I don't want to run the benchmark now though because I'm encoding a movie, I'm sure it wouldn't be an accurate score.

How could your score be so low? is it mostly just the videocard that gives you those great numbers? or did i miss something..

Yeah, that really does seem a little low. But remember, the MX versions of video cards are stripped down...so performance decrease is probably likely. Maybe he had some 4x FSAA on or something. It shouldn't be that low, considering it's a geforce4, though.

GeForce4 MX is a considerably worse card than a GeForce4 Ti.  GeForce4 MX is even worse than a GeForce3.  Those scores are about what I'd expect.

IIRC Geforce4MX's performance is only comparable to a Geforce2 Pro/Ultra...
