I'm getting several reports on YT that when people try to register here, they are getting errors and it doesn't allow them. I don't know anymore specifics than this, but perhaps it has to do with the new filtering system from all the bot names we did a week or two ago? Let me know if anything can be done about this, and I'll relay the message to those trying to register.

Most likely their email or username has been flagged by the spam monitors we use. I would need more information about these users and what types of email addresses they are using to determine if I can do anything about it.

Ok, thanks. I'll inform them and PM the emails to you once I hear back.

I heard back from them. The emails used were @mail.com and @sailormoon.com addresses. Those are rather unorthodox, but they definitely aren't bots judging from the conversations we've held. Let me know what you think.

Yeah I cannot see any reason why they are being blocked. Have them try again and let me know what the error is, if anything.

I am reporting another user who contacted me about an @home.nl address.

Well they can't register, so there is no thread  8) They message me on YT. I can PM you the messages if need be.

Well i dont know, i can see no reason why they would be blocked. Only suggestion is open up a gmail account or something and use that. I am not removing the spam blockers.

Just wanted to let you all know that for some reason the @yahoo.com email address is also being blocked it seem.  I have tried for almost a week to get registered waiting on the email to activate my account.  Not until I finally found this thread was I able to create an account, get registered, activate the account, and log in.

The forgot password option email thing doesn't seem to work properly, im still logged in here on my pc luckily but when i tried logging in my phone on this site it seems i forgot the password so tried resetting it and the changing password email never seems to come i tried it twice now for the past days ah if im logged out here too im finished lol
Edit:
Oops silly me never mind it seems it was in my spam folderr xD

Hi all,

Just registered today, and it seems that the captcha on the registration page is a bit broken - I couldn't view it at all (no image was displayed). Tried to refresh, and tried in a different browser, but didn't show up at all.

Luckily the audio 'listen to the letters' worked so I was able to complete the form, but it did seem like something wasn't working.

You guys see there are a few different people mentioning this?

Captcha is disabled for now until i can implement something that works. Added a few more verification questions to try and fool the spam bots.

It would be really cool if the registration page actually mentioned which e-mail providers would result in an automated banning of your IP. My tower now appears to be IP banned as I initially attempted to register with a mailinator address rather than my actual hotmail address (as I am not anticipating recieving more e-mails from this board), which is quite frustrating.

Give out a Mailinator address any time you need an email address but don't want to get spammed!
Were you trying to intentionally keep from getting any mail from the forum? It looks suspicious to the system (which is probably constantly under attack from spamBOTS) and I'm guessing the mods can unban your IP if they get a PM about it. The twist is you have to spam the forum at least 5 times before you can make a PM.

It's not really an issue since I can just use my laptop. I use Mailinator for things I don't anticipate recieving e-mail from - mostly forums, as I've never seen a forum e-mail a user actual information (rather than e-mailing a notification). Since I don't want that clogging up my actual e-mail, it's handy to use mailinator, as I can just dip in for the activation e-mail and then ignore it entirely.
