well I hope this will answer your question

see you

My original nick back in the old internet was simply "Hal"

It was for two reasons.

1) It was the nickname of the character designer for "Macross" Haruhito Mikimoto
2) It was the name of the computer from 2001

Japanese cartoons and computers. That's me.

However, as the internet expanded, "Hal" was becomming a more difficult name to get a hold of. It was popular with others because of the 2001 refrence and so I changed it to hal-kun (-kun is a Japanese name ending, like -san [ex. Danel-san] but it's more "normalized")

hal-kun became halkun

I've heared it pronounced where it rhymed with "falcon" but it's supposed to be "hal-coon" <--- like that

My pen name, Hal Nicholas. comes from that.

Lyada comes from bad memory... I first read LoTR in grade 5, and like any kid that age Legolas was my favorite character. A few years latter I went on a 'camping trip' with scouts to a military boat where we got to make dog tags. The dog tags had 4 lines of text on them and I didn't know what the hell to put on them and I could remember Legolas' name, and I thought it was Lyada or something along those lines, so that is what I put.

I too went on a camping trip back in 7th grade or so, and the name of the place we stayed was some sort of American-Indian name.  My friends and I decided we should probably have Indian names... So one guy was Squatting Turtle, another guy was.... something Squirrel, I was Obese Bear.
lol, that was over a decade ago too... wow.

I got mine while I looking through my FF7 guide

Masa-Buster, Masa(Mune), Buster (Sword). DUH  :-P :-D

Hmm.. This is kinda cool to talk about....

 :?

I guess you can figure out where did the name o' mine came from right?

But to get the gist of things:

Haru = meaning Strong Breeze or Wind ( Pls. correct me on this ). Name of main char of RAVE ( fan of Broad Swords )

harusame =  A Katana used by the main protagonist of Shaman King. But was also a famous Katana in Japanese History.

I played with a bit:

= Harruzame = meaning for me a sword of the Swift Winds = basically me.  8-)

it reeks of my personality...

Go figure

I was considering making a thread like this a few weeks ago. I'm glad I didn't because this one already is here. :D

But....I'm not going to tell you the origin of my name because I already typed it out somewhere else. Read it there. ;)

The "particular message board" was the ZSNES message board and the IRC channel was #turkishguy. It doesn't make much sense, but they were directly related. It was the more social channel at least.

There's also a Far Side cartoon that I didn't see until after I had established my name mentioning a "Face in the crowd". :)

My name came from a kind-of pen pal I have from California. He called me "Prince Lex" once in a message in 2002 (my name is Alexander, people call me Alex, Lexi, Alexi, Alexis... sometimes my mother calls me Xander. People generally just have a field day screwing about with nicknames for me. Most people that speak colloquially in Glasgow call me Alec because Alex can sometimes sound too polite in certain accents.)

I don't like being called "Alec" or "Alexander". "Alexander" is OK if it's someone I'm close with. Most people just call me Alex.

Anyway, the name Prince Lex just stuck as my internet nickname after the message he sent me. It's my name everywhere. I played with "phoenixheaven" for a while but after I adopted Prince Lex I changed my name on every board to it. It's my name everywhere that I'm a member, I like it because its personal to me, it came from someone I care about and it's not that common at all. There have only been a handful of places I haven't been able to register it (like youtube for instance).

Thats really all there is to say about it!

My name, hmm. I just decided to give it to myself. Got this name from the song "Dr. Feelgood" by Motley Crue. It's not my favorite song or anything, but I felt that the name "drfeelgud88" would just suit me. Lol. Sorry my story isn't really much of a tale to tell, lol.  :-)

sl1982 = my initials plus my year of birth

pretty exciting stuff

Omg! I started shaking with excitement!!! ;) (joking)

My nick name is just from the poetry I write.. I have an obsession with crows... and I have very depressed views.. lol..
Humanity is broken...
so BrokenCrowe
(the e stands for eternal, but that's is a whole nother' issue, one i wish not get into)

Yay for dyslexia all this time I have been reading your name as broken cow...

I got the name from Mech Warrior 2 for the PS1 then added the digits to my area code to make it my own.

Though i just like to say i enjoy causing trouble and raising hell hehe

My name is an evaluation of the people I meet...

I can tell a lot about a person based upon whether they initially read it as "tight guy 3" or "titty guy 3". I made it in middle school, but after realizing the effect it had, I held onto it.

Of course, when I originally made the name, it was selectively capitalized: "TiTeGuY3" haha

It's definitely "tight guy"
Though for a while a kept thinking it was spelled tit3guy.  With the 3 put in place of the e

So umm... what does that tell you

I would prefer not to be remembered as the broken cow. :P

Actually I think Broken Cow is pretty awesome.

says the guy known as obesebear...

I have read it as titeguy3, tit3guy3.

I remember a while back when I was reading the internet after I had eaten some psilocybin mushrooms
titeguy3 just felt like a great name, I don't remember why but it had something to do with your avatar of cid biting his teeth

I think of that moment whenever i read your poasts.

BrokenCrowe reminds me of Russel Crowe, sometimes I read your posts in his voice
