no psp emulators for nobody. you might be able to play one or two games, but that's it.

don't bother searching for one.

Can PSP games be 'ported' to normal PSX?

I know normal PSX games like FF7/8/9, Gran Turismo, etc, can be played on the PSP.

It should be possible to reverse the process...

i am pretty sure a PSP is alot more powerfull then a PSX and thats why it can emulate a PSX i very much doubt it could ever be done the other way round. (i dont have a PSP and i dont know the stats but this is my guess)

The PSP can run PSX game through a emulator (just like on the PC). Games aren't translated. It has a somewhat similar main procesor, but as far as I know that's where their likeliness ends. The video hardware definitely has nothing to do.

No that's impossible. They don't run the same games, the PSP emulates the PSX environment!

So, it's like PS2 runs PS1 games (emulation), but PS1 cannot run PS2

I guess that's it... Dammit! I want to play Crisis Core...

Could you get it to run on a PS2?
not without a emulator (which doesnt exist), And i also dont think a PS2 would be powerfull enough either.

i think the only way to currently play CC (at the current time of this post) is to buy or borrow a PSP there is no other system at current that can play it.

you're saying the ps2 isn't powerful enough to emulate psp?

it certainly is, only problem is there isn't an emulator.

Wow...just wow.

OK, I'm not an expert on emulation, but there's one thing I have noticed. For a machine to be able to emulate another one, the one with the emulator usually has to be much more powerful that the one being emulated (if anyone out there is an expert on emulation and knows better, please prove me wrong). It might be possible for a machine to emulate an only slightly less powerful one, but I imagine that would require an amazing emulator and no-one is going to bother making one of those for an obsolete console. In any case, there isn't going to be a PSP emulator on the PS2.

So anyway, wait a few years and you might have a PSP emulator for the PC, or even for whatever incarnation of the PlayStation is out then.

Kudistos Megistos I think your pretty much right there (i am also no expert but your opinion is pretty much the same as mine).

well i was under the impression the PSP is clocked at 333Mhz and the PS2 was 299Mhz so i didnt think it would be capable to emulating it (well not at a playable speed anyway) But like i said above i an expert so i very well may be wrong, I dont own either so i am unsure.

Actually, thinking about it, I'm sure I can play 360 games on my Game and Watch.
