I dunno how many photocrapically inclined members there are, but I'm pretty darn sure that most of you have an image acquiring device of some sorts, be it a camera or a cameraphone (or a scanner - you can stick cats into them, just don't blind the poor creature :-P).

It can be srs bsns, or a snapshot, or anything in between. This ain't a competition. As long as it's taken by you. And you want to show it to peoplez. No eksheptions, don't go posting photos taken by someone else, without a very good reason and explanation.

Few other rules. Since this ain't a photocrappy forum, most members might not be familiar with the usual protocols.

  • If there's a person in the photo, do not post unless you have a permission from that person. While it might be legal, it's terribly impolite. Celebrities and the like are an exception as far as I'm concerned - it's part of their job, as long as the photo does not depict them unfavorably or in obviously private moment.
  • If you want comments and criticism, say so. Unless someone has mentioned that they want such things, it's rather impolite to tell them their photos suck. We already know who is going to bash them regardless, but so what? :-D
  • Only one photo per post. Just so we can get moar posts.
  • Post processing is okay. Make it into as much of a digital art as you'd like, as long as you did it yourself - and it was a photo at some point in time. :-P
  • Tell us a story about it, if you'd like.

I'll add more, if need arises.

Don't be shy, this time you don't have to show yourself. :-P Don't be shy of your skillz, either. I'm aware of one other hobbyist - other than myself - in this forum, and neither of us are... what you'd call 'good', so no reason for 'oh noes, but everyone else has so much better photos'. I'm pretty sure that there are no pros here, either.

Since it would be rather crude of me to ask peoplez do something and not do it myself, here's one from me:

A beach, bit north of Lakselv, Norway (pretty sure it's actually this shoal here), about year ago. It's a HDR, combined from several exposures.

Amazing photo. Don't suppose you have some more like that in the 1920 x 1080 range? With your permission i'd love to use something like that as my desktop

Wow that is very nice.

The only pics I've taken are of people  :|  So no cool pictures from me, unfortunately

I don't really take pictures cept at family events. So i won't beable to post anything here :-(

Now I gotta go find me something to take a shot at! Because where I live, I don't see anything worth taking a pic of!

Awwww, such nice comments. :-)

hellbringer616: I should have the full resolution original of that - and couple more in the same style - somewhere. I'll look for them, as soon as I get this DV-capture done, I don't dare to disturb the com-pewter too badly while it's capturing. You'll have crop it into widescreen yourself, though. :)

lyada: That's a curious looking cat. I keed, I keed. :-D I like it, and thank you for posting. :-)

You could ask for their permission. :-)

There's always something. :-P If it doesn't look like there is, think small. Everyday household items can yield quite an interesting macro shots, for example. :-)

It's... oh shoot, everyone knows what it is. :-P It's a pretty old one, though. That's why it's so dusty. Shot with a cheap compact, using a LED-keychain as the only light. Obviously there was a cheap-ass tripod involved, but other than that - it's not the price of the toys that makes a photocrapper. :-P

WOW! I'm really diggin' that pic! Now I would like to use that as a desktop wallpaper. It deems worth for me to use.  :-D

I took this one last summer. It's in the south of sweden, the girl is my girlfriend. What a summer

Keep this thread alive!  I actually took some in Iraq, but they are on my desktop (at my house with no internet).  I'll go through them tonight and see if any are worthy of posting here.

EDIT

Also, someone, who shall remain unnamed, clearly has no girlfriend.  And probably still has their V card.

Good photoshopping...and ok it's not my girl friend. But I took the picture.
Case 1: Hermoor's real name is "Philip Ogaard"

Case 2: LOL!

Thank you. :-) I'll look for it - it might be a bit of a longshot since the original (which I do have and know where it is) was taken five years ago, and it seems that I've misplaced one or two of the post processed high resolution versions of those older shots.

titeguy3: Nice. :-) And very impressive fog, too. :-) And... yeah, I saw that as well.

obesebear: Please do, we'd love to see them. :-)

Numbnuts: :-D You never fail to FAIL, it seems. :-) BTW, I has photos of attractive women, as well. Photos that I actually took. Of women I actually know. Women who value their privacy, so, nope, you ain't going to see them. :-P

Hmmm... what next? Some artsy fartsy stuff, perhaps?

Old church of Nurmes, after it ran into some fairly heavy post processing. Old church is old, and town has since withered away, so nowadays it can seat almost quarter of all townfolks. It's really pretty, in any case. I'm fairly annoyed that the window seems to lean to the left, but after I fixed it... it didn't look any better. So, I left it as is.

El ammo thanks a lot, i need new backgrounds. i'll just have to figure out how to crop haha.

Anyway, if you found it on my site, why didn't you link to the one my site, then? Surely you can provide us with the URL, at least? :-D

Jeebus, Numbnuts. If you had actually read my posts, you could have linked to photos of actual Asian females that are hosted on my site. Which is hardly a secret, since I, you know, posted about it. :-D But you had to go and make yourself look more stoopid, didn't you?

My bad, ammo, I'll save you the next one!  :-D

I don't believe hermaphrodite is aware that you can view the URL of an image by viewing it's element properties in any capable web browser.

Dammit, I've been missing out on all the lulz recently. Anyway, here is Lucky Star + facepalm; highly appropriate in this situation
