This probably won't make for the most interesting thread in Completely Unrelated, but...

I'm a very nosy kind of person - I spend half my life viewing "Who's Online".  And I've noticed that, just about every time I do so, there is at least one guest "posting a new topic in General."  (Earlier today, there were three doing it all at once.)

A new topic posted by a guest needs to go through admin approval before it becomes publicly available for discussion, which may be the reason why none of these topics ever seem to actually turn up.

Seriously though, is something going on?  Is there something about these forums that compels newcomers to try and post things in General?

I'm probably being a real bore :| but I personally find this interesting.

Probably BOT/s not getting by the capcha security feature nothing to be too concerned over.

Ah, that makes sense.  I wasn't worried, just wondering why there always seems to be some anonymous person posting a new topic in General.  I just... find it weird ???

There's another one at it right now.

EDIT: Just checked "Who's Online" again and there's now a second one going for it.

Why are guest even allowed to post or start new topics?? They should really register first.

Register so they can post their one "help me" question and leave?  I see no problem with it.

And he said 'let it be so', and thus it was the way it would be.

Just made a new rule:  if I don't like your post, I will delete it.

This is actually the golden rule now.

Nothing I can see? What the hell does that mean? What is a guest doing that a member can't see?

Oh look, two new members are coming aboard.

I just wanted to know what it means when it shows:
Nothing, or nothing you can see...

Poor choice of words perhaps. More accurate is 'Nothing you are allowed to see'
