1) It HAS to be original.
2) We'd need permission to use it.
3) We'd need to acquire a large, Hi-res version of it.
4) I'd personally like a slightly different view of it.

However, it has given me an idea I think I'm going to flesh out and post, hopefully soon...

I definatly want a black one too.

me personally i dont believe i could afford a convention.. but what if everyone met each other and wuz like.. oh my god what a loser.. mebbe its just best leaving some of the mystery there.. maybe thats why most of us mesh well.. or .. of course the one thing that brings us all here anyway.. The love of the game...

Oh, here's a quick version of the Idea I had. For when we really do it, I'd get (or build) a much higher-res model for our work. This one of just a rip of the Dragon battle model. (The same dragon I used for that image of the dragon breathing fire in a much earlier post...)

Well, the dragon is kinda cool, but I think I'd have to say I kinda like the current logo better...

I'd have to agree with Cadd about the convention thing, though.  Not to mention, I don't think we could agree on a place to hold it, anyway, considering we're spread out all over the planet!
 
Okay... it looks like black T-shirts will be a rather expensive option. Even though I can sell the shirts below retail pricing (about 5%), 99dogs.com still forces me to charge certain minimum prices, as follows:

White T-shirt, 1-sided: $12.65
White T-shirt, 2-sided: $15.40
Black T-shirt, 1-sided: $17.60
Black T-shirt, 2-sided: $22.00

Now add the $10 international shipping to that, and you get an OUCH. Are you ready to pack up $27.60 (or $32.00!) for a Qhimm.com T-shirt? If it helps your decision, if more than 16 T-shirts are sold, a share of the profit will come back to Qhimm.com -- something like three months' worth of web hosting :)

...Well, that last detail rather depends on how we can sort out the contracting. Seph3D, if you act as contact person, that "potential" money will be paid to you personally. Do you have means to transfer these to, say, a PayPal account?


Anyway, I'll most likely be setting up a CafePress.com shop too. Partly because the white T-shirts & shipping are cheaper, but also because we can create other products too. If a T-shirt isn't your taste, there are always mugs and mousepads  :wink:

I know!  You can include a complimentary catalog of stuff with the first issue of the "Qhimm's" magazine!

Hi ppl, im back from vacation ...

I like T-Shirt idea too, but the price is little high, i can't afford it. But if i would, i definetely would take a white one. You know, its really hot in here...
I'll ask my friend about this, he works in small company that creates things like this, (t-shirts, caps...) how would prices be.
 
*sigh* I'm not saying "Let's decide now.", I'm asking if this is the direction we want to go.

So where are other people's ideas? I've heard very few, save for Qhimm's ideas, and I've seen even less.

Seeing as this forum is remotely to do with FF I say stick with an FF theme. The idea of using a summon as a logo is decent. Stick with that. Seph3D's design is good but it's a little bright. Something more subtle like the current forum logo would be brill.

Or.... perhaps a sword sticking out of the ground? No, not Tidus', one from FF7, the Rune Blade maybe?
I'd get a black one. Defo. Coffee Cup, yes yes yes! I'd 100% get one of those.

A convention... the members of the forum are quite wide spread, Americas, Asia, Europe. I believe there are some Australasians here. Good idea though.

I'd actually have to say that I kinda like the current logo better than the dragon thing a little.  I agree with dgp9999, something a little more subtle might be nice.

Dragon still isn't bad though.
