Doesn't TexMod come with a method to load an executable with modded textures automatically? There are plenty of mods to UE3 games like Duke Nukem Forever that require this implementation, since it's the only legal way to texture-mod UE3 games. Would that be a worthwhile solution?
 
I really hope this project is still going on. Even if the mod is not possible, I'd still want the textures to make HQ models of the characters. Is this topic really dead?
 
Sorry, I have not time for this, but I made other test with tim2view and I can replace the low res textures for my new textures but in low res, some characters works good and others no Xd... the game crash
I need some time for upload the files, now I am in my job XD
 
We must get a hold of that guy, the future of FF8 Modding depends on it!! :O
 
We already can do that. The problem is putting ones in that are larger than the original. We can already replace textures and such that are the same or lesser size.

just for fun I retexture the garnet and zindane head, the models of ff9 are have more details are really cute Xd
anyway was only a test maybe in a future a  plugin will work inject hi res textures :p

a yet unreleased version of this plugin will allow for texture replacement, I already asked him if i could get an early release to start trying to retexture games, However even though he said he'll release it for me, It has gone unheeded. maybe if you ask it'll show interest, Good luck to you

The version i linked is 1.42a So it's far newer than the one you linked. Good luck getting ahold of him, I've asked him 4 times over the course of 6 months, And he responded once with "I am having issues getting the latest version to compile, once i get it i'll send it to you" And he has since released the preview update of 1.44 and has shown it is working. But when i sent him a PM asking if i can still get it, he never responded.
 
Ok. I talked with him. So he told me:
1) that he works with psx and no with PC.
2) his method is not to fully change files, it's just replace real time textures that he place in special folder.
So i understand some. That our as i think Aali driver works same as his emu, no?
Dat mode works like i said: https://www.ff7catalog.com/threads/7980/ so why we can't just made mod as SEED style if no chance to make it works how we wanna? or with Aali driver there some restrictions?

I figured we were talking about ffix. ffviii we already have the ability to load custom textures, just not models
 
Yes we are talking about 8 and no, we can only load textures of lesser or equal size. We were looking at this as a way to load bigger textures.
