I guess eventually i will finally play FF8 to the end.
With these texture updates and maybe a field quality update, FF8 will be "flawless".
 
Fujin looks really beautiful!:o Wish that someday i'll play FF VIII with your mod!
 
Make sure to create back-ups. I, nor anyone on this forum for that matter, would like to hear of a HDD failure and that all the re-textured models were gone; along with your hard work in order to make them. :(
 
Your style is very artistic, and it's very suiting to Tetsuya Nomura's artwork style. I fancy myself a bit of a modeler, and I was wondering if anyone here could tell me if there's any way to edit models in this game? I'd really love to work on such a project.

test noesis it open well models? but can't import from 3ds max -_- or i do some not right
 
Export from PNG to TEX with software called Omega..

I hope it will be launched as soon as possible... I really want this!  ;)
 
the textures and models go into a .dat file. i think we dont have a way to get that yet
 
He only has them in game on the PS1 version using an emulator with a DirectX 9 plugin and Texmod, unless Aali pulls something out of the air with the next version of the driver, it'll be a long while before we see these in the PC version.
 
Umm.. Yes.. there's many app for DAT to PNG converter, but none to reverse it..

Sorry I can only help with pray so this porject can be used in my favourite game...

from what i understand the .dat contains the animation, model, and textures.
 
Bigs and Wedge Please...


Programmers used a type of compression format in the days of Amiga, when FF7 and FF8 was released they used the tools to compress data in a format nowsday is impossible to change. And they lost the source codes, bargh!

I have many work to do in my real life, but I promise I finish this :)
I try make Bigs and Wedge too.
I working now in Raijin, the next  is quiros and ward.
and i finish the all main characters

I try used a psx tim tools like "timviewer" for import the textures in the models, but the tools for psx games only can insert textures with the same size of the originals :/
 
These look amazing! is this possible on FF9 too? since it also uses textures on psx
 
Any updates as of late? Because, I haven't played FF8 yet, and I don't intend to until this project is released. After seeing the rise in quality, I don't want to try to play this game with the base textures.
