It is very easy to look back and take what someone said and change it to fit current situations, especially since he wrote 1000's of them
I think it's something you should all have read.TRIBUTE TO THE UNITED STATES America: The Good Neighbor. Widespread but only partial news coverage was given to a remarkable editorial broadcast from Toronto by Gordon Sinclair, a Canadian television commentator. What follows is the full text of his trenchant remarks as printed in the Congressional Record:
"This Canadian thinks it is time to speak up for the Americans as the most generous and possibly the least appreciated people on all the earth.
Germany, Japan and, to a lesser extent, Britain and Italy were lifted out of the debris of war by the Americans who poured in billions of dollars and forgave other billions in debts. None of these countries is today paying even the interest on its remaining debts to the United States.
When France was in danger of collapsing in 1956, it was the Americans who propped it up, and their reward was to be insulted and swindled on the streets of Paris. I was there. I saw it.
When earthquakes hit distant cities, it is the United States that hurries in to help. This spring, 59 American communities were flattened by tornadoes. Nobody helped.
The Marshall Plan and the Truman Policy pumped billions of dollars into discouraged countries. Now newspapers in those countries are writing about the decadent, warmongering Americans.
I'd like to see just one of those countries that is gloating over the erosion of the United States dollar build its own airplane. Does any other country in the world have a plane to equal the Boeing Jumbo Jet, the Lockheed Tri-Star, or the Douglas DC10? If so, why don't they fly them? Why do all the International lines except Russia fly American Planes?
Why does no other land on earth even consider putting a man or woman on the moon?
You talk about Japanese technocracy, and you get radios. You talk about German technocracy, and you get automobiles. You talk about American technocracy, and you find men on the moon- not once, but several times-and safely home again. You talk about scandals, and the Americans put theirs right in the store window for everybody to look at.
Even their draft-dodgers are not pursued and hounded. They are here on our streets, and most of them, unless they are breaking Canadian laws, are getting American dollars from Ma and Pa at home to spend here.
When the railways of France, Germany and India were breaking down through age, it was the Americans who rebuilt them. When the Pennsylvania Railroad and the New York Central went broke, nobody loaned them an old caboose. Both are still broke.
I can name you 5,000 times when the Americans raced to the help of other people in trouble. Can you name me even one time when someone else raced to the Americans in trouble? I don't think there was outside help even during the San Francisco earthquake.
Our neighbors have faced it alone, and I'm one Canadian who is damned tired of hearing them get kicked around.
They will come out of this thing with their flag high. And when they do, they are entitled to thumb their nose at the lands that are gloating over their present troubles. I hope Canada is not one of those."
War has been declaired. Those who are activly and willingly helping the people responsible, be it 5 people out of their trailer in Africa, Saddam Hussien, or an entire counrty in the Middle East, will feel the full brute force of America's Justice come upon them. And not even the combined power of the entire Middle East can stop an enraged America."This is an act of War."
"We will make no distinction between these terrorists, and the ones who are harboring them."
- President G.W. Bush, September 11th, 2001
I agree. However, there *could* still have been a lot of people who vaporized. As many as 10,000 different people in each of the Towers, plus people on the ground and in adjacent buildings. I also remember hearing that two more NY buildings have since also fallen. Last night they said there were about 300 Fireman and Police who were on the scene when the first tower collapsed and are believed dead. There's something like 200+ confirmed dead at the Pentagon, and the total number for the dead passengers of the 4 hijacked planes seem to be hovering in the high 260s. Last I heard about New York, a top goverment official was quoted as "hoping" that an estimate of 800 dead from the Towers was unrealistically high. Not that I wish to in any way downplay the events that occured, but using wild exaggurations won't help anyone. The death count is estimated to be in the range of a couple of thousands, but nobody knows. It's definitely not half a million, though.
I get the impression that he's angry, and, instead of exploding, he's putting his anger to constructive purposes. What's more creepy though... have anyone noticed how shook-up president Bush looks? ...exactly.
Check out the stuff their kids are learning in school sometime. All kinds of stuff that absolutely brainwashes their kids with Muslim extremism against Israel and the rest of the West. Frightfully violent anti-West and anti-Israel stuff. Even children's songs have been rewritten.Jari Huttunen:how can anyone harbor so little respect for human life?
In addition, if the perpetrators *are*, in fact, extremist Muslim terrorists, than it's also a matter of their Jihad/"holy" war against us. We are merely "infidels", of whom it is an "honor" to kill. You are seeing the reason right now; massive publicity. Even bad publicity is publicity, after all. Although usually you are supposed to take the responsibility to get the PR, which hasn't happened, at least yet.
I think there's some truth to that. Why else hasn't whoever it is that did it claimed responsibility? The intent of terrorism is to sow terror, after all.dagsverre:Or it just might be that someone is really pissed at US, and 'cause you can't really threaten a superpower via conventional war you have to apply poor man's warfare: terrorism.
I agree. Really hard to negotiate with people who don't want to negotiate...darkness:Oh, and this time it doesn't look like it's done for publicity, but rather for pissing off US...these people want to have the Islam world at war with the western one.
IIRC, that's the warning Jari was referring to. The reporter who got it didn't bother to report it until after what happened yesterday. Osama bin Laden and the Taliban leader (ruler of Afghanistan in everything but name) have both denied involvement. However, I guess there's several US intelligence reports (intercepted transmissions) that indicate otherwise.StrayWings:A terrorist group admitted to it. But then the leader said 'No we didn't. Thats terrible!' or something along those lines.
If you want my personal opinion, that's just superstition.11 = 11TH September, Tuesday

I agree with Ficedula. I'd bet a lot that those "predictions" were just as intentionally vague as the one you just listed. This person predicted World War 1 as well as World War 2...and his predictions were correct on both events, and he has made quite some more predictions, but not all of them came true..let's just hope that this one is one of them..
From what I hear it's every member of NATO. "...an attack on one member is an attack on all members..." etc. etc.ficedula:The USA teamed up with UK, France...cant remember.
Actually, IIRC, it wasn't the whole US army. (I'm pretty sure at it wasn't ever much more than 700,000 marines.) The main reason we pulled out was because the majority of the American public (this was the 70s, after all :winkRemember Vietnam? All the resources of the USA - and other countries - couldn't win there, because it wasn't a simple battle, army vs. army.
Well, if you *really* want some very specific prophecies that came true centuries after they were made, check out the Bible sometime.SLG:This is freaky.
Unless you are not a human, I find that hard to believe. Humans are emotional beings. Therefore, everyone has emotions. For instance, your very handle is "Some-Loser-Girl". From that it is very easy to infer that you have a low opinion of yourself, and that is therefore why you chose your handle. That may not be the case, only you know the truth, but one's self esteem is rather directly linked with emotions. Perhaps your handle has some other meaning, such as a humourous intent, but that too is directly linked with emotion. Spock didn't go around calling himself "Some-Loser-Guy".I am an emotionless being.
One thing I feared
Bah. Now everything is not aligned.
Is this a personal attack? Of course not. If it hurts your feelings, I apologize. Of course, if you really don't have any feelings (feelings=emotions), then I guess I have nothing to worry about...My homosexual e-mail will not allow me to download the file.
And where exactly is that?help the US strike at the very heart of terroism itself.
