Thanks for sharing Dan, L.Spiro I have heard hundreds of piano fan arrangements, often times they are less then exciting :( Yours version is very beautiful, and has a lot of feeling, and you should be very proud. Thank You.
 
I didn't know you played the piano! Massive props, not enough people play it in this age of "two guitars, a bass, and drums".

Now I have a sudden urge to learn this song myself.

well I know how to play piano, guitar bass, drums/percussion and a bunch of misc instruments but I think it really depends more on how they are played then on how often they are played by the masses.

for example I tend to play either classical or my own pieces on guitar because I find a majority of modern music to be lack luster and un-original
I also have really big hands so I find it to be really great practice to learn Nobuo Uematsu's songs on guitar, such as Ami from FFVIII, although a lot of his work would be impossible on guitar and are only possible for me because I have monsterous hands haha

anyway I just want to say to L. Sprio that this is exceptionally beautiful little performance!  :wink:

I also wanted to learn bass and drums but my motivation was really with piano.  I only wish I had started sooner.

I wasn’t trying to be too original with these.  My goal was to make them how they might have sounded if the composer was not limited by the MIDI playback of each respective system.  Of course he would have done much better than this too…

I am hoping at some point to be able to meet Nobuo Uematsu at Square Enix.  It would be amazing to meet the man himself if he ever goes back for a meeting or contract work etc.

Actually one my destination of choice to go after i finish university is japan.
Kinda love everything about it, tho the language might be an huge problem.
 
If you intend to live here then yes you will need some Japanese (visiting is another matter).
But you should already know how to solve that problem.  I studied in Thailand for 2 years before coming to Japan.

An alternative method is to join a company in your country that has offices in Japan, and then try to get transferred.  In that case you could probably still work in your native language, but I would certainly recommend learning Japanese.
