Yep.  You're heard right.  Actually, both SC and BroodWar in one cartridge!  You only have access to the one-player Starcraft Campaigns if you don't have an n64 with the mem expansion pack.

However, they had to cut some stuff out; because of the size limitations of the cartridge.  Only the opening movie is a movie, and its really shortened at that.  All other movies, except maybe the final ending for Brood War (haven't gotten to that point in the n64 version; I'm hoping they left it as a movie) are rather slide-show type cinemas that give the basic scope of the events in that particular movie.

Also, all briefings are given as text-only, no voice overs accompany it, to my disappointment.  However, a majority of the in-game unit speech used when they're selected and given orders is kept.  Unfortunately, the scripted in-game voice overs during missions is again given as text.

hmm . . . we'll have to figure out a time when we're both on.

As far as rushing goes:  you can try it if you want.

goku-> you get a bonus level with duran though. what more could you ask for?

Forgot to mention that.  You're correct about the Duran level.

But, I'm not far enough into the campaigns to access it yet.

And, I should mention that on the small levels (map size 64X64, I think), the n64 version (which I'll refer to by its abreviation, SC64) runs NICELY fast.  I'm talking about higher framerates than what I get in the computer version.  On a 30 inch or bigger tv, those levels are execellent.  Good frame rate and a big display.  Now that's StarCraft!

I wish Blizzard had used a 64MB cartridge instead of the 32MB one they used. They could have used mp3 for the audio and MPEG for the video to save space as well.

Resident Evil is the best example of N64 video. It has all the video from the 2 disc PSX version...It is also 1 of only 2 64MB N64 games.

Yeah, the N64 is a bit slower, but not too bad. Plus using it on a big TV with Svideo looks pretty nice.

if they would put audio in mp3s it would save space, but it would take more processor time to play it, so it would go slower.

What secret duran level are you talking about ? Are there more secrets that I dont know about ? I know only about secret Zeratul level.

I would gladly play sc with yous, but i have lame net connection. Maybe if I would go to some inet cafe ...

I guess the "Zeratul level" could also be called the "Duran level" b/c it does have a bit to do with Duran.....

Nah, N64 is good with compressed formats. Perfect Dark and Conker(the only other 64MB game) both used tons of MP3.

What is this Duran level on the N64 you speak of?  Does it have anything to do with the mystery of the secret Zeratul level? (Can anyone say Starcraft 2?)

The Duran level isn't in the Campaigns.  It can be found under the Custom games or the two-player games.

And, it's only in the n64 version.

ohhh i thought it was accessed like the zeratul level. (25 minutes. hehe so easy)
