Some company made empty gameboy carts. Why not use it along with the SNES adapter (gameboy cart adapter) to get the games you want? Mystic Quest sucks, get Beavis and Butthead! I loved that game, along with WWE.

The adapter was official, though. I actually had the commercial version of those, but SNES broke so you must take good care of yours. I play better translated games on computer now.
 
Mystic Quest was so easy, yet so stupid, I wondered at its very existence.  You realize that almost every RPG cliche is executed in the game.  For example, the towns' names annoyed me.  What were they again?  Foresta, Watermia, Fireburg, and Windia, or something like that :roll:.
It was probably intended for firt-time RPGers, who didn't care as much.  Besides, it wasn't that bad.  I enjoyed going around with the hookshot thingy!

Wrong... For some reason it's illegal to download them even if you do have them.  Making you're own ROMs is the only legal way of having them.
 
I've dumped my entire GBA collection, and pretty much only put the ones I'm currently interested in on my flash cartridge. It's a lot more space-saving than carrying an entire collection, and completely legal (I buy and dump myself, rather than downloading).

How much is a flash cartridge?
 
It depends on where you get it, what brand, and what size. GBA flash carts range from about $50 US to $150, and range in size from 128Mb to 4Gb. The Mario Advance games are 32Mb each, whereas Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories and the GBA video series are 256Mb. Look around on import sites, such as Jandaman, to find what's right for you. Avoid easybuy2000.
 
There's devices to dump your own roms, the thing is, I don't even know if it is legal to play them once you do. You are allowed a backup copy, though. I know you can't play one on the computer and on the SNES at the same time.

Also, I purchased device at Radio Shack that let you plug PSX controllers into your PC. I have one. It's plug and play if you have the right version of Windows. Since the PSX controller is almost identical to the SNES one, it's good for both. I just need a solution for N64 controllers.

Also, the flash cartridge thing is completely legal as long as you dumped it yourself and only one copy is running at a time and you don't distribute it.
 
I remember a case involving Microsoft where it was ruled that each computer must have its on copy of Windows, reguardless of whether you run them at the same time or not.

Of course, Microsoft has a EULA with their software, so it could be different.

Current SNES state: Frigg'n awesome

So far, I've purchased a broken SNES on ebay for parts, 2 hexagonal GameBit tools (Nintendo really didn't want people opening up the system easily!), (1) 5V blue LED, and some washers. They say a picture is worth 1000 words, so I'll share 5000 words with you  :-D! The pictures are somewhat blurry, because my workspace was dark and the camera had trouble focusing.

After finally putting all the pieces back together, I decided to put phillips head screws in to hold th console together, instead of the flower-shaped ones it came with. I salvaged some perfect fits from the motherboard of the broken SNES! w00t.

I want to have the coolest SNES on my block. Right now I'm trying to get ahold of some plastic-friendly paint that won't mask the SNES's texture.

Yep, Krylon Fusion, using it at the moment  :-D.


--As for the glossy finish, that's really easy, simply wet down the plastic casing and rub very fine sandpaper on it until the SNES texturing is ground off. When painted it's almost as shiny as glass, but it fingerprints easily.
 
Hmmm, I have one myself. The AC plug on it has sadly kicked on me, but I have an emulator so it's no problem.

I suppose I could post my game list, I'll have to dig it all out and get a list going.

Are you talking about the power jack in the back of the console? If so, to fix it, simply take a pair or needle-nosed pliars and pinch the two pins together so they are touching or nearly touching. Make sure they aren't touching the ground plate on the bottom.
