This is what I am talking about:

The letters are all scrunched together.

Also when the Mako reactor blew up, the sound cut out until I got to Aerith.

And another thing, the settings in the OpenGL Driver config don't seem to save. The internal res, texture memory and Audio settings reset.
 
Looks like you don't have Aali's Custom Driver, which should have been installed with the Game Converter. Please post your APP.log, surrounded by [.code][./code] tags (don't type the . in them).
 
The text scrunched happened to me when I had Team Avalanche's GUI installed and Menu Overhaul enabled on 7th Heaven.
 
The text scrunch happens even with out the menu/GUI mods active.

Now were you talking about the applog.txt in the appdata folder?

Menu overhaul. Probably you have the textuers for it in your mod folder but not linked to it. You can move the menu folder from it into the textuers folder.
 
Why are so many people showing up here lately with using Aali's 0.7.11b? That version is not included in the Game Converter for STEP 1 of the tutorial. Use the Game Converter please so that you can get Aali's 0.8.1b setup properly for use with 7H.

This is the reason why your OpenGL settings are not saving.

I redid Game converter 0.10 and it installed Aali's driver, not sure which version. It's the one from the tutorial. Is there a direct install for the updated driver?

Edit: Also I noticed the mods/Textures folder is empty. Those didn't get installed correctly either.

Edit2: Yup, the GC 0.10 is installing the 0.7.11b driver.

Edit3: I just now notticed the version of GC is called 7H instead of a version number. I tried downloading it and Chrome is blocking it. Gonna try on another browser. This should work. What happened was I must have clicked Read and downloaded the wrong version.

Editn: And IE is blocking it as well.

Edit: Got it to work with Firefox. The correct settings were there already after overwriting. This should fix alot of issues.

Now like I said earlier, I notticed some folders are empty when they probably should be full. Like I noticed the textures weren't being applied. I'll launch the game now to check and see if they are working, otherwise I probably should reinstall the mods.

Install the reunion mod it will (really) patch your files. Put all files from ''mod/reunion'' to ''mod/textures''.

And please don't ever install a game to program or whatever windows owned folders. They have an extra write protection.

He meant that you shouldn't install and convert the PC or Steam version in the program files our program files (x86) folders, or they'll bug your mods.

I'd like to use this thread to ask if it's possible to use Menu Overhaul/Reunion without disabling the 7th Heaven's mods.

After installing Reunion R03e(only the Retranslation patch), I noticed that it won't load anymore 7th Heaven's Open World textures, Magic textures, Field textures, Menu avatars and New Game/Load background. Music and field/battle models look fine.

I tried moving the mods\reunion to mods\textures, but it caused the text crunching mentioned above. I could only have MinMin's transparent avatars by downloading them and manually pasting them into reunion\menu folder, replacing the old avatar files.

So, it's there any way to install the retranslation patch from Reunion or MO without disabling 7H mods? Is it possible to replace files like I did with MinMin's avatars?
 
Reunion is a combination of many mods, and even if you uncheck everything from it, MO (Menu Overhaul) is still installed by default. I think it modifies the ff7.exe as well, so if you make a copy of your original before you run Reunion, then you may perhaps be able to use that copy ff7.exe to launch through 7H. I HIGHLY do not recommend doing this though, unless you want to do more trial and error experimenting than actually playing the game.

I am sorry I can't give exact details, but I'm not a programmer/modder/tech savvy person, and all my work is basically done through trial and error experimenting, followed by asking questions behind the scenes. It takes A LOT of time to learn this stuff, but once you get it down, it's worth. The average user though, it's way too complicated to explain and is why I don't offer a lot of help in these situations.

The good news to all this is that I will be adding R04e MO and ReTranslation portions to the next Catalog update, so if you want to wait until then, I'd recommend that instead.
 
Alright! I will do as you say and wait until the next catalog.  :) It's really amazing how far you could go even though you say you're not a tech-savvy person. Congratulations!
 
He meant that you shouldn't install and convert the PC or Steam version in the program files our program files (x86) folders, or they'll bug your mods.

Install the reunion mod it will (really) patch your files. Put all files from ''mod/reunion'' to ''mod/textures''.
I have to make an addition. You must change the mod path to use the textures folder in aali's driver as well. You can change it in the driver's ff7opengl.cfg file or with 7th heaven.
 
I don't think Aali's 0.7.11b saves properly through the 7H interface, so it would have to be changed manually.

I did as you suggested me and it worked really well. The open world textures and magic textures worked again and the retranslation seemed to be still there, although magic names such as Blizarra reverted to Ice2.

Another issue with it is the presence of wrong monsters and battle backgrounds in Mythril Mine (this issue has already been foretold by 7th Heaven's FAQs, dealing with modding already modded ff7.exe files), like Midgar Zolom in Shinra Building background and Motor Ball in Midgar Highway background.

It seems impossible use the retranslation with 7th Heaven at the moment. An update will be necessary for that.
