I think playing a real instrument makes you better at rhythm games actually. I find this applies to my situation, either that or I just pick up anything that has to do with music and rhythm quickly (I did pick up piano quite fast and I've always been more advanced than the average).

Funny thing is the very first time I played FF9 I scored 100%. Never in the many times playing the game afterward Have I ever been able to replicate that.

Even when I play that game on ePSXe (using the discs I own, BTW) and slowing the game to 1/5 it's speed, I still mess up 3/4 times. :(

The thing about it is it's not significant if you fail. You can still get a moonstone later and gil is still as free as it was before. It's just a nice jump start to get it all at once like that. :)

I bet that you think it's not as bad as the first Blitzball game in FFX, right? ;D

Eh... I never lost the first blitzball game... :P I did on my first playthrough but I reset and redid it and won. It's not incredibly hard.

Lawl beginner's luck =)

One "cheat" we tried to do was to pause at every command then enter them as soon as we unpaused... but it didn't work for some reason, like it canceled the command. : /

I think it's infinitely superior to Blitzball in lots of ways:

1. It's physically (and biologically) possible for two people to be doing this.
2. The music is fun and catchy
3. You don't have to do it more than you want
3a. When you're done you're done and no one ever brings it up again.
4. It's actually fun for someone not playing to watch (maybe for the first two to three times)
5. YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO IT 50 TIMES TO GET THE BEST SETUP!!! (especially this)
6. You don't miss anything in the game by not getting perfect at it (although you miss out on a rare moonstone)
7. Seven's a cool number
8. I don't have to manage a team
9. It's not a game-in-a-game mini-game.
10. It's not sports-related
..... The list goes on. Trust me.

I hated the whole Blitzball thing in FFX.  Just... hated... it.

If this were youtube, I would "+1" to NFITC1's post.

blitzball was a kool idea you know, a hybrid of soccer n waterpolo in a sphere... except... it wasnt a sphere, they locked you to two dimensions, and added a bunch of turnbased shit.... so... it became a stripped down, laem tactics minigame :P

I'm probably one of the few people here who thinks like this, but I kinda thought Blitzball was fun. But then, I'm alot more patient with games then most people. I actually enjoyed playing it.

You can also go on about how the concept of blitzball is impossible. You try holding your breath for 5 minutes (plus time to get out of the water) while doing intense physical activity. :P Also, the whole point of blitzball is that there's a 3rd dimension to swim around in. And they don't make the slightest use of it in the gameplay...

EDIT: Shiet, Timu just brought up my last point while I was posting my comment. T_T *grumbles*

Who here hates blitzball? I think its the greatest mini-game for any final fantasy ever.
