At any rate, we can't expect a community to stay clean without a 'helping hand', purely through the goodwill and mutual interests of its members, no matter who we're talking about. I expect Qhimm will make a post in a few days detailing his options and likely choices. I imagine that a moderator to be upgraded, and new mod staff to be recruited - although 'who' in each case is up in the air. Of course, it's also possible that Qhimm himself will take the reigns for a few weeks, assuming that he can apportion the free time (and that's a big assumption).

Lulzopedia? I'm not bringing up the cyber-bully argument but rather; why bother? Why bring it to prominence? Erase shit like that, ban as necessary, don't feed the troll. The situation seemed pretty avoidable to me on all sides, and both sides are still keeping it going by continuing to stoke the fire. Wanting a person to die is pretty uncalled for, but in the grand scheme of things I doubt he's over where ever he lives and stocking up on weapons to kill you. Making lulzopedias and declaring the forum can fend for itself after having irritated the situation worse isn't exactly any better.

I guess what I'm saying here is, somebody needs to delete ALL this crap and deal with this in a normal manner instead of making a parade out of one or two people. Poking someone with a stick clearly hasn't worked, how long has it been? Sometimes, just saying the right things can be more effective than having mod status.
 
I hope you'll forgive me for saying - I think you're being idealistic. I know that you're not proposing a short group hug and we'll be the BROTHERHOOD OF QHIMM, but I do think the 'Hermoor situation' isn't going to be resolved as easily as you're (perhaps) suggesting.
 
Haven't been around here much lately so I don;t have any idea what this is all about (and really dont care). But Jari; see you when you come back again :3 (he usually does, at least until now)

Thing is, Hermoor isn't your average troll. You can't ban him because he'll come back with proxy after proxy. We spent several months with account creation in admin approval mode because he came back so many times. He feels very real hatred for the people here (and at other forums were he has caused trouble; we're not the only ones to ban him), and I suspect he doesn't go to school or work. He's incredibly determined and has infinite time on his hands.

There's no ignoring him either. If he isn't getting the attention he wants in Completely Unrelated, he spams the on-topic boards with as much porn as he can find; it's happened quite a few times.

We just have to accept the fact that Hermoor will never go away (until he grows up) and he will always make himself heard. The solution Jari implemented was actually a good one. He had his own subforum where he could troll to his heart's content. The people he was insulting were able to get some laughs out of him and everyone was able to get on with their work in the on-topic forums.
 
I don't think that is how to operate at all.  All you need here is 3-5 moderators who would ban practically immediately...but all we got was a person who encouraged it.

With Hermoor, you'd need 24-hour forum surveillance, which would take a huge team of moderators. No, giving him his own forums is more efficient and lulzier.

BTW, there's no "encouraging it"; Hermoor will always come back and get attention, and what looks like encouraging it is actually for the greater good, preventing him from shitting up the on-topic forums.
 
I never would have resorted to trolling back then had the admin here not been so utterly in my face and allowing certain posters to bait me.  Had I not felt a strong sense of injustice I would never have returned...and def not trolled.  I can't speak for hermoor but he has discussed the fact that  the admin and his playpen were making it worse, so obviously he feels aggrieved.  Things could have been handled here 100X better, and I could have just not taken the bait back then but I did. 

Setting up a whole section of this forum does not do anything for this community.  It isn't as if I am even back here to try and weedle my way into the community again, despite that accusation...I am here because this is the best place for FF7 Mods and Modders.  If there is another please show me it...

This place needs moderators...and that is about as basic as it gets.  I don't know if hermoor plans to carry on....but a start would be getting rid of all those posts and insults then maybe he will calm down and move on....
 
There we go. He's being f***ing sincere and ready to move on. Can Qhimm.com move on and lay the past to rest? Please... consider it before posting something snide. This is the perfect chance to fix everyone's problem, don't let egos make it blow up in your faces.

Also, it has come to my attention that I'm an idiot and am really confused about all the freaking alt. accounts on Qhimm.com.  ???

if i may, the first time i ever, EVER, had a problem from hermoor, was when he began trolling a video on youtube, even though i had never spoken to the guy.

the problem is, its not contained either, he trolls anyone here on other sites. and thus, it really added fuel to the fire.

besides, some of that "trying to save us from brainwashing" crap is just WAAAYYYYY to funny to delete completely :P
 
Tsetra is correct. Seifer, I respect the guy. The past? Idgaf what happened at TLS. Is this TLS or qhimm?
I don't know why some would bring that shit up. To me, Seifer, or Dan, is a good person. I respect him and I disliked it a lot when everyone would bash on him. He's trying to make peace here and still some people continue to piss him off just because he is easily provoked. I can relate to him in a sense that I could get annoyed very easily and my mood can drastically change. If you were him, you wouldn't like it at all.
Anyways, moving on, this whole feud within 10 members or whatever the fuck it is is just getting so damn old already.
Hermoor, you need to stop going on rampages and spamming threads with porn for the love of God. Enough is enough already. Get over it. Whether you're banned or not, please let others who are trying to make some FF7 progress do it.
I swear, this is way worse than high school drama really. It's quite sad at the same time. Why do you think I hardly post anymore? I read but ignore most of the bullshit. I only post when it is necessary to point out something extremely stupid. Yeah, I may have participated in some occasions of the "insult the trolls" threads but then you noticed I stopped because it was already getting old. As Tsetra said, could we move on now?

That's how this started the last time. I'd be willing to let it go if there was some degree of truth in what he's saying now, but there isn't. There's a reason he was banned. He's got a really bad attitude. The childish name-calling and whatnot happened as a result of his attitude, not people here being trolls and "baiting".

What I will do - treat everyone (including the aforementioned) that is a member of this board with respect and dignity.
What I won't do - lay down and take it like a bitch.

Actually correction, I used to be easy to get wound up and trolled, but I am afraid those days are over as the admin here found out when he blew his mental lid...
 
From this point on, I, too, will not start any crap.  However, if crap starts flying.  I will jump in the fray and voice my opinion.  I go to the Completely Unrelated section to partake in random-ass discussions and voice my opinion.  If they happen to involve trolling and the like, I have no problem shooting down the people who I think are wrong, and voicing why.  I've done it before with Hermoor, and if he flares up again, I'll continue.  If he contributes useful words to the conversation at hand, I'll treat it as such.

And that, my friend is the reason why "history repeats itself." I know, it sucks, that one tries to defend himself, and then the other person goes to the extreme to have their way in flaming arguments and then... Well, you know what happens: Thread-wars.

One should "forgive and forget" unless he's done harm to you irl, which I'm almost positive this isn't the case. If you can't take it, then you should meet the person and discuss about it in person or something, but not through the forums where people are trying to read something worth (about modding or anything else not involving arguing.) Same goes for the person that is the one insulting the defending person - if something bothers you, sort it out on MSN or something. Meet each other, have a nice cuppa coffee and then talk or go walk in the park or something.

The admin has never been in your face, in any kind of a manner. Qhimm and SaiNt intervened only when you resorted to spamming the entire forums.
 
Remember, I was not an admin back then. Regardless of how much you might have  wished or assumed I was, or what you might have demanded of me. I do suspect that neither of the actual admins would have done anything for you, either. Seeing that you were spinning your own lie about what happened over at TLS, after all.
 
So, enough with the lies, okay?

Well I hope he knows we all think of him as a hero and I will say he was right. I understand he was undermined and I have no respect for the people who made this happen. thanks Jari, you did a great job.
