The APZ Cloud Project!!!!

Well at least it's working! But!!!

I'm going to replace that model with an updated one, I made a discovery that Cloud's gloves are NOT symmetrical:



There are NO Silver Rivets on the right glove.. and the fingers are a darker grey almost black in comparison to the shiny light grey fingers of the left hand. Wow, Cloud's more detailed than I originally thought! Kudos to Nomura and Square's character design team for crafting such an interesting and seemingly utilitarian outfit. Really, I'm studying character design and it's a deceptively both simple and intricate design. The perfect ratio!

Now, I realize most people wouldn't give a damn! But if you read my long battle with timu sumisu :wink: you'd realize my goal was to create a Cloud that's as close to the canonical version (The new canon) as can possibly be! In almost every picture pose and animation the right hand is obscured from view or only seen from the palm side. Naturally I just thought it was the same on both hands. But it's the action figure I bought that made me rethink my over analysis.

I was working on better hair, it's only interesting from some angles but not perfect. I'll use the crisis core hair model to make it look more like this picture:



I know many of you are happy with the hair I made and thats perfectly fine. I will replace the download on the first post of this thread with the updated model, if anybody wants the original (That's still up at the time of this post), shoot me a pm!

I also know many of you are screaming silently at me "Finish the other Cloud's you turkey! !@#$%" And other such quiet fury... I'm sorry! I'm compulsive and art school is like art boot camp! I go in for a 4 hours class and by the end of the day I've drawn the same naked person over 30 times! Homework isn't any less time consuming either. I apologize, I know if I were a faithful fan like many of you, I'd want this jerk-off to hurry up as fast as he can! But I'm only human... I WILL do it, it's just a matter of time motivation and procrastination!  :roll: I'm sure many of you have had the same problem  :-P

Your situation is totally understandable. Few people realize the commitment and time it takes to do well in studio art classes. I went through it getting my BFA and MFA, but now I seem to have less time a teacher. However you should never feel pressured to do the work your passionate about or you will loose that passion. Take your time do it well, and do it your way. The rest of us can wait. ( I still really want the update ) Your work so far makes you one of the elite modders and faithful fans.

Wow! Well thank you quite very much for your understanding and your advice! It's the same advice I give myself of course  8-) , but it's nice to hear it from time to time  :wink:

I just have to learn to stop putting more on my plate than I can eat!

I made a pretty good Start Menu using your Buster Sword http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i59/apz_freak/StartScreen.jpg. I've been using it for a couple of months now. Can I release it? If so I'll only include the .tex file with a read me on how to install it. I would like to put it on my vid thread, and call it APZ New Buster Menu or something like that. If you would like to release it on your thread I'll send you the file and read me. Ultimately the choice is yours.

wow it is the apz cloud model on field mode??? can't wait of releasing that!  :-D
 
Alright, here's the new hair. I decided to use Koral and MrAdults wonderful programs to break open the Crisis Core and Dissidia models. After hours of analyzing and prying I decided my Cloud's hair isn't close enough. So I spent some time re-thinking his whole head. Now it feels more like Cloud!  :lol: It helps to have something 3D to turn around to use as reference. I also decided his lips don't need to be modeled, it doesn't really show up in the game signifigantly to really need it. But I could always put them in later if I need to render him out in all his high detailed glory!



The field model will be the same proportion as the original :| Sorry!

Apz, I don't know if this would be easier or harder, But could you do two releases of the field model? I much like the non chibi field models, If you don't then i understand it is your project after all, Just something i'm sure some of us would like.
Amazing job though my friend, You have the best cloud model i've seen, And you just keep getting better, Kudos  :-D

That makes me sad...i probably won't be downloading any more updates if this is the case...
 
It was afraid of me ... ey, apz freak, when you finish your version chibi of cloud, you have thought of converting your version of battle mode to field mode?

I HAVE TRIED to do it for my same but the textures ALWAYS remain in white  :? :? ... all that is very complicated but I would like to learn to do it jeje

He means they will be the same proportion as the original Chibi field models
 
A small request. In the next release could you also include the final battle Cloud files.
