Games that use openGL like Unreal Tournement can be natively run in Linux.
Er...What?
i think he meant "openGL based games can be easily ported to linux". that's what i make out of it, since win/opengl -> lin/opengl is easier to do than win/directx -> lin/opengl, right?

If he meant that, he shouldnt have said something completely different to what he meant.

It came with extra discs, so I assumed I could install it in Linux and Mac. Haven't tried yet though, but I assume it does work.
Supposedly this guy did it with a few crashes to the desktop:

Concerning media playback, VLC can play everything, but Its not good for organization.

I'm not here to argue, I'm just stating the fact that you can play media without any more tinkering on PCLOS, and I assume that because UT2004 claims Linux support, it does.

Did all of them come with the mods disc? The version I got did. Aw crap, the only game I bought that I didn't need the CD for and I LOST it.
James, did you ever try to install it on a Linux box?

Yes gaming on linux is a little harder. You're not able to play all the games as on linux. But there ARE possibilities.

As I mentioned before, see this link, and links for other articles on bottom of the page:

There are quite few games to start with.

Then there is emulation. DosBox for old dos games, Wine for windows games, and if Wine has problems you can try a Cedega emulator which should work a lot better.

You can try to look here http://kyberia.sk/id/3393621/ to find some more links to games (mind the different language).

The best Linux is of course DSL: Damn Small Linux^^
true, but not for starters. something with kde on top would be more useful for a newbie (as it's pretty similar to windows, so it's not too frustrating to get around it).
