I thought i'd post this in completely unrelated, since I have no idea where else i can put it now :P

anway, watch this video:

and now this one:

Its rather interesting how much stuff has been changed since they released FFVII the first time.

The long-time rumored Test 0.  Hehe......

**I think you can post it on 'General', since it's related to FF7.

I personally think that a lot of new stuff will pop up if they reverse engineer the
"Square Extra Preview No. 5" and the other Demo.

Read the description.  Some test/debug battles are different between original Japanese version and later versions(look at the awesome battle background).  Also there's once rumored Test 0, which can be encountered at certain place without using cheat codes(I mean, cheat devices) in original version.

I've done that with the sampler disc and there's just the necessary data for the demo to work. Moreover, the demo uses KERNEL.BIN to store all the enemy data (IIRC, there's no SCENE.BIN) and item strings are fixed length instead of pointer-based.

This is the same version that had the hidden rooms for the Honey bee inn. In theory, you could actually restore those levels....

I believe that Tsetra is (or was) working on doing just that. I for one think it would be great to see all of those unused scenes (not just the Honeybee Inn ones); a lot of character development seems to be skipped for the minor characters like Jessie and I'd like to see it back.

I'll have a look for that. I'm interested in those missing scenes, i'll have to see if i can get a hold of that version.

How simple would it be to insert that battle background to replace the blank background on the pyramid battles?

Maybe when Team Avalanche finishes everything else they could whip up a new snazzy high-res version of that.</wishful thinking>

This reminds me that I need to post a vid on Youtube detailing the one FFVII glitch people still haven't found. Any guesses on what it is?

I'm guessing you mean the Cid event that triggers a battle with Diamond.

Oh, just say what it is >:(

I'm imagining it has something to do with Ultimate Weapon... a glitch in which he dies in the wrong place, maybe?
