The way I made battle models from that was by recolouring the battle models once I resized it. Hope it helps.

I was using Kimera 0.81 (I think that's what bored called it) and if anyone is having problems, I might just upload sonic as a battle model. :-) I could only recolour it once it was a battle model though. but I could mess around to see if I can fix sonic since he's problematic.

If you could upload the Sonic Battle please, that would be a big help.

It took a while just to do that, so just so you know, it won't be as easy as you might think.

Hey, that looks pretty good, ultima espio.

Sorry, for the double post, but what I'm planning on doing is use no textures, so to give it more of a classic FF7 feel.
(I'm not planning on using the NPC patch with this.)

MOD EDIT: It's great that you are sorry. It would be even better if you'd just click the 'modify'-button instead.

Not your best idea...i tried that before my SADX models were textured and it takes FOREVER to vertex paint them.

Prehaps, but I want to at least give it a try. Trial and error and all that...

Speaking of which, how do you make a battle model not need it's texture files anymore. When I just take them away, I get an error.

EDIT: Nevermind. I just needed to use an older verson of Kimera.

Err.... well, I doubt that any version of kimera mess with the textures in the RSD.  Which means that the game will still need the textures even though it looks that it doesn't with kimera.  The thing is that kimera didn't support the diplay of textures until the 8th version.  So,  if you don't see it in kimera it's just that kimera doesn't diplay it but, the game will still need it.

Now here what you need to do.

1-Open the RSD file that is related to the P file that you want to remove the texture

@RSD940102
PLY=AAAE.PLY
MAT=AAAE.MAT
GRP=AAAE.GRP
NTEX=1
TEX[0]=AABB.TIM
This is what it will look like.

2-Now you have to remove any TEX[X]=XXXX.TIM lines and change the NTEX=X to NTEX=0

@RSD940102
PLY=AAAE.PLY
MAT=AAAE.MAT
GRP=AAAE.GRP
NTEX=0
This is what it need to look like if you want to remove all the textures.

Hope it helped.

Well, Thank you, Stormmedia.
I already knew this plus I was talking about battle models.
The problem was, since the new version a Kimera loads TEX files, I kept getting errors when I took the files for Clouds eye's and mouth away in his battle model. It textured the head weirdly.

EDIT
Problem

The models acting weird again.
Any thoughts?

The texture isn't applied to the pieces thats why it goes all white, and as for the texturing thing just make the texture black and it will become see through, that way you can have the texture there but it wont interfere.

Well ... that would work... but you'd use textures you don't need at all.  Loading something you don't need is bad in the game making/modding.  The best way is still remove it from the RSD file like I said before.

I did reomve the texture from the RSD. I colored the model in Kimera. I think the white is a result of leaving all the "Maxed" white (255 on all colors) in the model.

EDIT:
I transfered the model to battle and I'm still getting the same problem with the battle model. It is something wrong with the model, not the textures.

Err... well, if it's okey in kimera and white ingame it is definitively a texture problem (well... if you have an older version of kimera that doesn't support textures of course).

Could you send me a link to your model I'll see what I can do (don't worry I won't share it with anyone).

Sure, Stormmedia.
But it's gonna be late in the afternoon.
(I'm at school right now, posting in the library.)

Wait i know what the problem is! Have you deleted texture data from the model itself? Like go into Kimera and select "kill texturised groups".

Humm... It could work.  But, if this is the problem I wonder why the model isn't all white ingame.  It still have some part colored.  Anyway try this and if it doesn't work send me the model.

I tried that already. It deletes the model all together.

Well thats what you get for trying to edit someone else's work(wasn't my best work though :-P). You should get a sonic model and try converting it and colouring like you want. It might end up being better than that one you have there.
