Ifalna Crash: In the latest version of Fice's DLL (shared-source) the 'Ficeconsole.dll' is named 'Ficeco~1.dll'That's why the app crashes. You've got to rename the dll into its 'real' name. I've had that problem, too, but I solved it

3DS: I still have no Max SDK...
This topic seems not to achieve its aim...

But I've got another error: when I select an animation and click on 'view model' - I get a message:
'2.966... is not a value float) or sth like that...
Fice: You know what that means?

Erm ... yes. It means your PC is really crap! It works on mine and Skillsters!I honestly haven't got a CLUE why it doesn't work. I'll upload another version tonight with More Stuff in it that may fix it.

It just doesn't work on mine - it won't work on any comp running german plattforms (or at least windoze)It's not my comps fault - microsoft did this!

3DSM: Are there any users out there?

Take a look at this

is it me or do i swear that 2.8991 IS a floating point value??

Oh kami-sama - I encountered just this with the Remake translation. Alhexx was referring to that   :wink:The reason is, 2.9662 ISN'T a floating point value. Not in German, anyway. In Germany it'd be 2,9662 since they don't like using full stops for decimal separators.

Right. Now I understand that, it can be fixed. There'll be ANOTHER newer version out by the end of Tuesday. Groan.

UPDATE: Uploaded the next version now. Incredibly easy to fix of course, once I knew what the problem WAS. As an added bonus (a new version that JUST fixed one bug wasn't worthwhile) you can edit the animations in the new version. Tested BRIEFLY in-game and it seemed to work. Wai!

alhexx> hows the textures going? sounds like it will be a cool feature.

Sorry for replying so late, but I haven't been home all day. I've been to cinema directly after school - I watched Final Fantasy...   :DAs for the textures, like I said, I'm currently doing a break in texture work...
I'm thinking of including a hrc-reader function first. But I'm not sure. Perhaps we should use Ultima for modelling and Ifalna for animating - that'd be a great alliance. What do you think, Fice?

Fice: Okay, Version 1.10 of Ifalna worx. That's good.   :)

Just tested Ifalna 1.10 - I just wonder if it worx on other, non-german comps???

Sure, sounds ok to me.At least Ifalna WORKS everywhere now   :)

It should work under any local setup. By default, Delphi uses the local format for number conversions, which is good when the user's entering numbers since they enter whatever they're used to and it works.

It doesn't work when you're reading in numbers from files that're always in English format, like, oooh, the FF7 ones?

So Ifalna now tells Delphi ALWAYS to use English (decimal point = full stop) formats when reading in numbers. So THAT problem shouldn't occur again, whatever your setup is.

That's great! I think that's a good solution, b'cause you seem to have got the .a files running, so I don't really need care 'bout them. So I can concentrate myself on .p files. - Alhexx

With 'That's great' I meant the alliance...

lol. I ordered a demo cd about a year and a half ago, it was a movie. I was like Damn.

because 3dmax, lightwave, and other high-end 3d graphics systems cost upwardly of $3000 a pop. Companies such as autodesk and newtek are a little leery about giving free versions of anything away. For example, when my uncle wanted Lightwave, the "demo" was an actual Newtek sales associte coming out and showing him a full version of the program. Then, when my uncle liked it, he bought it right there in his own office. He got a few seat licences and gave me one of them ^_^

i think most people here got them off of warez sites. I dont have Lightwave, or 3dsmax. If i were to get a program, It would definitely be maya it would be worth 15000 dollars to have a chance to make animations that ate final fantasy movie quality.

The problem with Maya is that unless your scanning them in, humaniod heads are a b!tch to get looking realistic. I know! I took a course on Maya modeling, and one of our assignments was to create a head. The general shape is easy, but adding the eyes, ears, nose, mouth, all the funny wrinkles, the lips, folds in the eyes... *groans*

It'd be easier to make a physical clay model of the head, then scan it in and attach it to whatever body you've made for it. That's how the games and the movie was done.
If you can make a realistic head in Maya from scratch, I will truely be impressed.

Well, back to Lightwave! (I went back cause I ran into so many problems in Maya that I could fix in 5 seconds using LW.)
