Using ps4 Controller with 7th Heaven Mod?

I see some of you all able to use a ps4 controller with the mod/patch for ff7, obviously without being in the actual steam version. I have my ps4 controller connected via bluetooth and ds4 will read it. Im on windows 10 so the net frame is there already. So how can I accomplish this? Can anyone explain step by step on how i can get my ps4 controller to work with 7th Heaven?

Just tried it.works perfectly with ds4windows.
You need to create a profile for your ff7.exe and set the buttons of the controller corresponding to the keyboard settings you have set for your game.
 
Anyone figure out how to get this to work with 7h 2.0? I can get the controller reading just fine straight on my desktop with DS4 but 7H seems to block it somehow.

with DS4Windows?  when launching it, right click and run as administrator
