Various small problems with mods/editors (FF7), help greatly appreciated ^_^''

Well before I get to the small problems I have, Hey! im Andeh =] (I couldnt see an introduction thread so yeah x3 sorry if there is in fact a huge obvious one I've somehow totally missed) I've been lurking these forums for a while now, mostly in regards to my use of mods in my game, but have had trouble finding anything in regards to my upcoming problems so I thought I may as well make an account, sides I was pretty active on FF Citadel fore it started dying out, so a new FF forum seems worth being part of  aheh :3 nyways sorry bout that, onto what this topics about.

Basically, I have just a couple small problems with my modded game. I've used the Bootloader to install my mods and its worked out more or less perfectly; my game is currently using gjoerulvs hardcore mod with both aerith revival and new spell names (just in case any of this is at all relevent)

My first problem is when using the wallmarket editor, there were some things I felt needed tweaking to my own personal liking in the hardcore mode with skills, which I done easily enough, however with so much power at my hands it was hard to resist creating my own skills, and thats where my problem came in; I edited both Mini and Frog into Drain spells, and they function exactly as I designed, however, when I save the changes to the Kernal, the names appear as what Ive changed them too, but when I then load up the game,  the names are still Mini/Toad, yet they function as the spells I changed them too. I'm sure I'm just missing something hugely obvious but I cannot for the life of me figure out what that is and I cant see anything about it in the help faq that was part of Wallmarket. So yeah, how do I make my text changes stick?

My second problem is that since modding my game, occasionally after a while of playing, small graphical errors will start happening.
To be precise, Clouds model or weapon model or both starts disappearing (its happened with Red XIII too, but otherwise its only ever Cloud), menu icons for items start disappearing, and eventually, black squares start covering large amounts of backgrounds in areas, eventually I'll enter a new area and they'll be no background whatsoever; plus once the graphical errors go this far, then the next battle I enter with near 100% certainty will give me an "oops! something bad happened" error.

At first this was little more than a minor annoyance as it happened quite rarely and was of course fixed by simply closing and reopening the game. However since I reached the world map its became increasingly common, sometimes happening every handful of battles, so if anyone has any idea whats going wrong and how to fix this it would be of great help.

I'm sorry if this would have been better suited for one of the other boards, I couldnt decide where it should go and saw little reason in making a topic for each problem so I just put it here considering the description x3

If you used Bootleg, then perhaps you installed Menu Overhaul from enabling the Overhaul tab? DLPB made that mod, so try asking him how he changed the names of spells.

Post your APP.LOG after the game crashes.
 
Thanks for replying =] Im actually not using the menu overhaul x3 but heres my APP.LOG; it literally just had a crash fore I checked here aha :'] (It lasted a long while this time though, I was grinding on the world map with absolutely no problems until I decided to enter Nibelheim to continue so maybe changing areas has something to do with it?)

Intel HD Graphics is the issue. If you have a dedicated GPU, you need to have it set to run with ff7.exe. If you don't have a dedicated GPU, you will continually crash due to insufficient memory.
 
Ahhh damn. x3 nah mines integrated. Thanks for the help anyways =] guess I'll just have to live with playing the game in small sections x3
 
You can try the new driver, the problem should be fixed with it. BUT be aware! This thing is new and some old mods aren't working anymore. Also bootleg does only know the commands for the 0.7.11b driver version. The best is you make backups of the files it will replace.
 
Oh wow! I've set it up it and it seems to have loaded the majority of my mods fine (least the ones I can immediately check) ^_^ and as of yet its not crashed and it generally would have done by now. There are a handful of small errors happening (for example the arrows showing accessible areas/ladders etc. seem to be loading the wrong graphics/when attack changes to limit its loading something wrong for the rainbow effect and the minimap on the world map has disappeared so theres just a yellow fan moving about on nothing x3) but none of these things bother me at all and are a fair trade off for not crashing xD

so thanks a lot! =] this seems to have basically solved my problem ^_^
 
I'd bet money other problems will pop up along the way. I'm glad 0.8.1b finally supports Intel HD Graphics, but it's at the cost of other things breaking. It needs more time to iron out  :-\
 
For the record that crash has absolutely nothing to do with integrated graphics, intel or otherwise. Its a bug in 0.7.11b that was mostly fixed in 0.8b, it won't crash anymore but you can run into graphics corruption issues. Let me just re-state again; it does not matter what graphics card you have, the only thing that matters is the size and number of textures you have loaded since you started the game.
 
yeah, I assumed there'd be a chance problems will happen along the way, but so long as I can play it fine for now I can deal with them when I get there x3

nd yeah, I thought it was strange my integrated graphics had trouble with a game as old as FF7, even with HQ textures, but none with games like Saints Row or Skyrim, but I just presumed it was maybe something to do with how the game handled memory or something xD

but anyways, thanks for the help =] if anything major pops up I'll try remember to post details on the updated driver thread if that'll be useful? =]

EDIT: Also I managed to fine the answer to my wallmarket skill names problem in the actual thread so thats no longer an issue either =]
