What happened to the scorpian weapon, the one that was in

the dessert of the golden saucer, its not in the pc version. That was the coolest looking weapon in my opinion, and they took its not in the pc version but playstation verison has it. Damn, what bullshit
 
You're thinking of Ruby Weapon. I believe it only appears after killing Emerald Weapon.

Or atleast it did for me.
 
It appears after you beat Ultima Weapon. :p

You see Ruby Weapons head sticking out near the Gold Saucer after that.
 
Not quite.  You need to save and reload the game for Ruby to appear after you've beaten Ulty =)

I always remembered it after Emerald. I'd always get pissed off and say "Let me try the other one", only to find nothing in the desert.

And I killed Emerald after I killed Ultima.
 
I remember my bro killing Ruby to get gold chocobo - to get KotR and smash Emerald :). So you don't have to kill Emerald to be able to find Ruby...
 
In the PS version I killed Ruby long before I killed emeraled, and BTW, Ruby was also much easier :D.

Emerald is the one you kill for the chocobo and the three all materia. Im positive about that one, because I had KotR for Ruby, and not for Emerald.

Were you playing the PC version of FF7? 'coz I'm as sure as you are, that for "Desert Rose" you get a GoldChocobo (which my bro used for getting KotR).

My mistake, you must remember, I haven't played this game in awhile.
 
Yo people I noticed this topic from a basic search and decided it was probably better to revive these post then start a new one. Anyway I noticed a bug in FF7 with Ruby weapon PC version and that is it doesn't always appear. I'm on the third disk and I've beaten all the other weapons and I bred my own gold chocobo to get KOTR then it hits me where the heck did Ruby go after a bit of investigation on other forums and stuff it seems that this sometimes happens and the only fix to go and do other stuff and come back and hope he gets generated -_-. I was wondering if anyone knew anyother ideas or perheaps is there some trainer i can use to just activate him like the Jehova save game editor?

I had this exact same problem. I was on disc 3, killed Ultima weapon on disc 2, entered and exited the Final Cave etc etc. STILL no sign of Ruby.

I didn't defeat Emerald, but when I went to cactuar island Ruby suddenly appeared. I checked the game clock, it read 51:09:09 - I don't think this would have any impact on it.

For a while I was convinced that I had killed her and that I forgot about it, I ventured over to Kalm to talk to the guy who requests her item which revealed that I hadn't fought her.

The world map sort of feels empty without them  8)
 
old post but i have a related question.  pc version.


on disc 2 i didn't kill ultimate weapon.  i did enough damage and he flew up and ran away.  haven't seen him since.

on disc 3 now.  ruby flies around the map.  he sometimes stops over condor tower.  if i bump into him when he is flying it kicks me back with electricity.  if i bump into him when he's stopped at condor tower, it will enter battle.  but as soon as i do a bit of damage to him, he flies up and runs away.  its impossible to beat him when he takes off on me.  i thought i might have to kill emerald first, he doesn't run away like a bitch.  but then i see here that people have beaten ruby before emerald?  what's going on here...
 
Given that Ruby Weapon attacks using his tentacles, Ultima spells and one move that instantly removes a party member from the game, i think you've gotten them mixed up.  Ultimate Weapon flies around the map.  You have to deal lots of damage to him in each battle (that you can trigger by ramming him until he stops), then one time he will stop over Cosmo Canyon.  This is the last fight with him.  I think it's only possible on disc 3.  If you still think it's Ruby Weapon you're fighting over Fort Condor, post a screenshot, and we'll see.  If it is Ultimate, try hitting him with soemthing that does a lot of damage, like the Bahumut set of summons.
Ruby Weapon appears after you've beaten Ultimate Weapon, then had at least one random encounter on the world map.  Emerald Weapon is underwater most of the time, but for some reason doesn't always appear (I guess he might be on the other side of the ocean, so maybe I just can't see him).  Information gathered from my PC version, which I've had for about 10 years (only recently reinstalled, but I remember all this).

Heck, maybe you do have to go to Cactuar Island.  I always collect three Tetra Elementals from there as soon as I can, so I have no idea if that changes anything else.  Worth a try as much as anything.
 
So if you want to find Ruby, kill Ultimate.  Simple as that.  Everything else I said is now worthless.
 
well i did have to go to cactuar island for ruby to show up.  strange
