Just a heads up... installed Windows Media Player 10 today and now FFVII movies won't play in-game (although they do play in WMP). Will look into this...

That's kinda weird, have you recently installed any codecs or anything...... nah, that don't make much sence....... must be down to user error  :P

Did you try installing the upside-down movie patch?  Movies worked fine after I did that, but I got this error after the opening Eidos movie:

Great.  Not sure if that's just a general FF7 problem or a problem with WMP10 (since I just now installed FF7 to check it after reading this, and that looks like a null pointer problem heh :P), but I think I'll just stick to ePSXe for now :-/

Gah! LoL

Is this available after you grab SP2?

I'm not touching SP2 until i can back up EVERYTHING on my hds.. Then I will probably fresh install again..

It's available here. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/mp10/default.aspx

Afaik, it works on any version of Windows XP.  However, I think it only shows up in Add/Remove Programs with SP2 (with the "Show Updates" box checked)... otherwise, you have to System Restore to get rid of it.

I did a full format on my main computer when installing SP2, but all of the other computers at my house (4 of them I guess) and many computers at work took the upgrade with no problems. :P

Yeah, I didn't have any programs with sp2 and it actually made stuff work better, which was really really surprising...

I have SP2 and downloaded the chocobo and movie patch, has been working fine now (until it fooked up when starting the snowboard thing, but just put it in Win98/Me compatability mode and it worked)

Did you try installing the upside-down movie patch?
Just installed it and it seems to have reolved this issue with WMP10. I didn't think installing WMP10 however would have had any effect on the TrueMotion codec... :isee: Ah well... it works.
