mirex: It works great. There's only 3 things you need to add before it becomes perfect:

#1) It should merge points automatically. (Or at least an option to do so.)
#2) You should have it so you can set the surface's smoothing option. (Default is off right now. LW default is 89.53 degrees. My perferred setting for FF7 models is 180 degrees.)
#3) All the surfaces, once converted, have a surface diffuse setting of 0%. It needs to be 100%.

But other than that, it work perfectly on both battle & field models!

mirex: well, I haven't d/led it yet, b'cause your server's quite lame for me. I get 'bout 50 KBPS ...

Actually mirex, forget about #1. I know why there are unmerged points now.

I know jack sh*t about graphics but why dont you guys use 3D Studio MAX or MAYA, they are by far and away the most used 3D graphics programs arent they?  Also everyone in the games industry uses one or the other. (and if that's not a reason I dont know what is!)
You can't really use the price argument as I've found millions of placesto get both full versions for free

Two reasons Ant:

#1) I HATE 3D Studio Max. I've worked with it a lot and I simply hate it. I admit that there are some thing that it can do that LW can't, but the stuff that both can do, Lightwave does a lot better and easier.

#2) I don't know Maya that well, and getting support for it is a b*tch!

And just because a program is used a lot doesn't necciarilly mean they're the best programs to use. If everyone used Truespace, do you think I would? No. It's a piece of sh*t! (No offense to anyone who likes it.) You have to use the programs that are best for your workflow. (Especially if you don't work for a pre-established company, like us.) And since we have our own programmers, we can convert to & from LW with a bit of work. If I went to work for Blizzard, I'd naturally have to use 3D Studio Max, because they're an established company using software that they've already bought.

But since we're NOT a company (yet... If the remake is good enough, we might be able to form our own little gaming company!) we can use any software we want. I hope this answers your questions.
