download the custom start screen above, and insert buster.tex into your menu_us.lgp(or place it into your menu directory if your using direct mode)
Then place buster.png into {ff7 root}/textures/WMRP/menu
Replace buster.PNG with whatever you want and it will appear on your start screen(it has to be a PNG file though)

I made this wallpaper 2 weeks ago or something like that. Say, what you want, and this will be what you get :P
I'll make a more specific "AVALANCHE" background, if you want ;)
 
Alot of good images are showing up, but remember widescreen isn't supported by this game. It will squish your hard work together and make it look like ass.

I do this , but appear very small....

hmm, do you have the latest version of Aali's driver? I seem to recall something odd with an older version but i may be mistaken. Wierd that the new image appears, but is still small.  Usually you'll get no image at all, or you'll see the test texture.

Fantastic...., but they both use the AC Cloud. That is a problem with purists. The second and third are both good, but that high collar is a dead give away. For an AC mod they fit but not an upgrade to the original game(however they are in the correct directiion).

I'm still going to push this as the best best image.

I like the third one. But I don't think zack should be on the front you can play the game with only seeing him a few times maybe sephiroth instead. Also when I put my image in game I get this weird cut off it only show's part of Aeris I've already tried to resize the image any suggestions. Got's the latest of Aali's drivers.

hmm, not sure about the image cutoff. The one i used is 1024x768, so maybe some kind of wierd size limit? I'm not really sure since i've never had any trouble using my test texture to display pretty much whatever i wanted.

And yes, i really like the image that grimmy posted.
 
Got it! It was my driver's. Mine is ok BUT I vote for grimmy's

A few lazy minutes in Photoshop. It's a bit toony looking, because I fail at textures, so I didn't bother. Great if you want FF7 to look like The Wind Waker! :)

Well, now I have time and I'll make a new wallpaper ;) 1024x768 is ok, isn't it?
 
1024x768 is the bare minimum for these images, feel free to go higher but maintain a 4:3 ratio.

Come to think of it, mine isn't exactly 4:3. Would it not work, or stretch, or have a black bar, or what?
 
you'll have to try it out and see. Mako's screen looks okay, so there's only one way to find out ;)
 
1280x1024 should be fine ;) But what happens, if I want to play on my Full-HD TV? (1920x1080)
What if set the Custom Driver's resolution to 1920x1080 and set also my widescreen wallpaper? This should be ok, shouldn't it? (Damn, my english is sooo baad xD)
 
i believe that i should be okay if you do that, but im not sure if FF7 displays properly on a widescreen.  I think the images will stretch and you'll need to play letterboxed so things look normal.

a bit of toying around with grimmys suggestion.  I cannot find a highres version of the original, so i blew it up and give it a few filters and some hand blurring... almost looks like a hand drawing now.

i tried tineye but all the results are the same low resolution, so i manually enlarged it and cleaned it up a bit. I like it, and it would be easy enough to add some fancy text somewhere on it. If this ends up as one of the choices i'll likely hand it off to someone better suited to the job.
