Hey guys, I'm new but I'm loving this site. With the avalanche patch and this graphics driver, wow, I never though FF7 could look so nice. Anyway. I seem to be having the same problem as most people with the random crashing. I know an update is being worked on, but are there any work arounds that will keep the game from crashing? I tried running it in windowed mode, no luck. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks!

Have you installed any other patches?

how to turn off anti-aliasing? coz it makes my game slower.. i have low-end video card..  :-(

Anti Aliasing is enabled through your control panel (nvidia) or Catalyst Control Center (ATI) not the graphics driver, right click on the desktop and select which one is right for your card and disable it. though unless you enabled it it should not be enabled at all.

state your card here please. it may not support OGL2.0

this is a question of Aali... do you know anything about how the game handles animated textures such as the waterfalls or ocean? I'm asking because animated start screens(or any texture for that mater) could be a reality if we could figure out how the game decides what textures are animated and which files it calls.

From what i can deduce it is coded into the game itself. Just like for some of the textures for summons and such, some use multiple textures to create animations, others use different tiles within the same texture.

Yea, I have quite a few actually, however I found the link to the previous version of the driver and it works flawlessly now. Thanks!

looks like it not uploaded yet.  I peeked around in the directory and the file isn't there.

Great job on finishing another release Aali, can't wait to try it out.  The random crash fixes are just what we needed!

Hello, I'm back after falling off the face of the Earth for a while.
Just wanted to point out that, as far as I can tell, this is now the longest thread on these forums.

Thanks Aali, v7.3b just fixed a random crash I was having on XP SP3. The game just kept crashing and popping up a screen saying "Opps Something Very bad Happened" while entering combat or switching screens but all is well now. Other than that, that was my only problem with this game.

So Again...Thanks

Can someone please tell me how to turn off anti-aliasing in custom driver for ff7??  :-D

Screenshots wouldn't really demonstrate this very well, but I've just tried out v7.3b and at the first bombing mission, the restore materia on the ground flickers between being opaque and invisible.

This was being caused by PRP, not the driver. False alarm.

There are many known problems in prp and the answers can be found on this forum, but most users only want to play the upgraded version of ffvii not learn to mod for themselves (or read through threads before they post).
