Yes, installing movies is a simple procedure.
You can simply extract the movies into the '\movies\' folder found inside the game folder.

I identified the error that prevented MOVIE.zip from installing.
It is corrected for the next release of Bootleg.

My reinstall did the trick. I believe this is because of the part where it tells you to configure the midi in the "new" FF7Config, I just made sure I had picked HDMI as my audio output source - remember this is only for the sound effects as the music is handled by FF7Music.

Also, if you're having problems with music not playing or coming out of a different sound card or something, just manually start FF7Music (not the bootleg loader!), click "Configure" (like the olden days) and then manually change your audio output source.

YEEEEAAAAH!!! ha haaa, deleted ff7 music and used the rapidshare download link on the ff7music installer thread, and BAM!!! working music, I did try configuring the audio output to hdmi first (with no effect), but I do believe I had a dodgy file, though I did keep the ff7 music configuration in mind, probably had to do it anyway, so CHEERS!!!

k, now that the major problem is resolved, it's time to start nit picking...
2 things:
1) my game looks a tad watery
2)its kinda bright
glitch_3_by_crackinglazer-d4nhjz6.jpg

if theres no fix, I can live with the wateryness, but I'd like to be able to make out clouds face, at the moment it's totally shrouded in glare
I have fidled with my tv's display settings, but it doesn't help the brightness issue.
as always, any help would be much appreciated.

cheers

The brightness might be a shader issue.
Disable shaders and verify if that fixes the problem:
Load Bootloader, Click CONFIGURATION, Untick SHADERS, Click WRITE CFG.

aah!!! awesome sauce, hit the nail on the head, much abliged, so no idea about improving the backgrounds?

There are 3 packs of field background textures available: FacePalmer, BlackFan and SL1982 Field Packs.
Each pack has a different artistic style.
FacePalmer is generated algorithmically.
BlackFan is filtered.
SL1982 Field Packs are filtered with a layer of noise.
There are various field texture options-- including no change from the original-- available during the Bootleg configuration.
All current field texture packs contain glitches of some sort.
Lighting textures do not work correctly with the current version of the OpenGL driver.

Are you using the FacePalmer field textures setting?
Try the Bootleg option, or an option without FacePalmer.

Before, when you unticked shaders was a mistake. You have to tick shaders, and untick postprocessing. Postprocessing is what caused the blurry brightness.

If you didn't install the higher quality backgrounds, then yes you'll have to reinstall. But even the new backgrounds don't look that good, as they're just upscaled and filtered. It's a limitation I'm afraid.

yeah that works to, now I'm thinking the backgrounds aren't as watery as I thought, I think it was just the railings that were affected rather bad in the top pic.

cheers for the help guys, this forum is made of awesome!!!

So, the MOVIE.zip file only has "mkup.avi" and "opening.avi".  Is this correct?  In my game, it seems like every other movie is in the normal "lego" graphics.  Does bootleg replace all of the cutscenes, or only some?

All of the movies are replaced.
You must have the necessary FMV mods in the Bootleg folder.

Does the play as Sephiroth patch work with bootleg? Are there still glitchy animations (i.e. limit breaks looking funny etc)? Also does it use the updated sephiroth model I see with a normal install of bootleg (last run was 0036 version)?

Edit: there appear to also be three versions of the patch, is any one better than the others?

k, I've tried both the facepalmer and bootleg options for the field textures, and I'd say the facepalmer option is the way to go, I'm pretty sure it was just the railings that looked wobly when I initially nit picked about wateryness, facepalmer is really smooth, where bootleg is still pixely, so yeah... cheers.

Hey Vgr sorry i haven't been able to get back online (i have only just seen your PM's here and on MSN), been staying at my mums too look after her while she was ill so this is the first time i have been on for a few days.
I don't know if you still need them but here is the list of components for the menu overhaul (for doing a silent install)
Code: [Select]
Code:
"retranslation""retranslation\canonnames""retranslation\american" "retranslation\gjoerulv""menu\with9999""menu\without9999" *ON BY DEFAULT"menu\status""battle\ffix""battle\ffx" *ON BY DEFAULT"battle\battleauto" *ON BY DEFAULT"battle\removecommand""graphics\main\default" *ON BY DEFAULT"graphics\main\felix""graphics\map\original" *ON BY DEFAULT"graphics\map\olde""graphics\tranavatar""graphics\credits" *ON BY DEFAULT"fixes""fixes\sense""fixes\defaultrun""fixes\gypt""cheats""cheats\nobattles""cheats\save""cheats\invincible""cheats\cait""cheats\tifa""uninstall""uninstall\byfile""uninstall\bypatch"
I think they are all pretty self explanatory but if you are unsure you can ask me or just run the installer (i think i have put them in the same order as the installer)
I hope this helps (just sorry again about being late)

Hey, after i installed bootleg, it worked perfectly. Then I saved, exited, and changed the open gl to a lower resolution. When i start it up again, it just freezes at the menu screen. I can't move the cursor from new game to continue and i can't select continue either. Do i need to reinstall because i did that already.

Are you sure it's frozen? I've never heard of it crashing there before, and it doesn't move so you wouldn't be able to tell. Try using the numpad keys on your keyboard.

None of the keys work. The eidos logo doesn't show up. Do you think that has to do with this?

Change the resolution back to the default or run in compatibility mode.  The game might be running on a part of the screen that's not visible.
