[FF7] Original and Outdated Tutorial - Bootleg Configurator

Can anyone help me?I just installed the game and bootleg but when i start the game i only get a black screen i tried everything already but nothing seems to work, also my O.S. is Win 7 x64.
 
1. Don't go with "Mode Switching - All Mods". There is a bug associated with it that will be fixed in the next release (0039). For right now, choose either "Norma Vanilla" or "Gjoerulv's Hardcore Mode" and wait until 0039 release to go back to Mode Switching.

2. Under the Textures tab, uncheck "Battle Scenes as LGP". You only need the PNG option checked.

3. Under the Avatars tab, make sure "Avatar Preset" on the right-hand side is set to "Custom" or else it won't install properly. Another bug that will be fixed in the 0039 release.

4. I believe "Aeris Revival" has slight issues when Menu Overhaul is also installed. Just be aware of that for Discs 2 + 3 when she is around.

5. Is your new mod folder actually named "Bootleg0038" and is it actually at location "C:\Jeux\FF7\Bootleg0038" with all the proper mods downloaded? I just want to make sure you didn't simply copy my image link location without knowing what it means to do so.

5 > Yes, Bootleg is actually in the same folder of the mods.

C:\Jeux\FF7 is where I installed the game (Maximum, no drivers DirectX 5 and stuff).
C:\Jeux\FF7\Bootleg0038 is where I putted Bootleg and all the mods, in their original filename, in their zip and rar and stuff.

I just tried again, and it didn't worked either.

EDIT : I forgot to mention that I reinstalled the game this morning.

Did you install it correctly? 1.02 patch then Aalis custom graphics driver? Post your 'ff7opengl.cfg' info here (copy/paste it all)

Just got it running dunno how the f*ck.Nevermind, i need help with making Msi Afterburner OSD working with the game also when the game starts i receive a error message "failed to load shaders, check app.log for more information", but the game starts just fine.

sounds like you need to run stuff as administrator or turn off UAC

UAC is frikkin obnoxious.

Edit: Cannot think of any other angles to work from. I would completely turn off UAC (even though windows wants to freak out about it) and reinstall, might not help but it would be my next logical action

Don't know if this will help but are you sure you have full permissions? Are you a proper administrator and right click it and 'Run as administrator' is the main Bootleg folder in desktop if you don't try it from there, if nothing works then best thing would be to wait abit more for 0039 which will include a bunch of fixes and many more new stuff added

Ok, so here I come back!

I've been away from the forums but I've always been on IRC. That is probably the best way to contact me.

For those who have a real client (such as mIRC, XChat, etc), you can use the link irc://irc.esper.net/Vgr and pick a nick.

For those who don't have a client, don't worry! You can still join. Use http://scenes.at/BootUser and *ADD A RANDOM NUMBER* so we can tell a difference. You only need to do that once, after that the nick you have chosen will always be kept.

For anyone that doesn't know how to use IRC, here is a quick summary :

You can, at any given time, perform a "special" action by entering a line that begins by a slash "/"; that line won't be send as text.
Some useful commands to know :

/nick <newnick> : Change your nickname to <newnick>
* Vgr <text> : Make it look as if you're performing an action. For example, instead of "<MyNick> hi" it would be "* MyNick hi"/join <channel> : Make you join a specified channel. Channels begins by a # followed by the name of the channel.
/part <channel> : Make you part a given channel.
/quit <reason> : Makes you quit the network with the specified reason. The reason is optional.

Also, there are people with @ and + before their names. @ means he's a channel operator and + means he has voice. You can ask there to know whay those do.

You can ask for help in the channel for mainly everything. There are various people there, although not all of them know Bootleg or even FF7.
 
Ok, I checked "Retranslation" in menu overhaul along with "canon names" and "american spelling", and I also checked "FMV's retranslated".

NOTHING in the game seems to be retranslated. It's exactly the same as the PS version.
 
Is there a mirror for bootleg0038.zip? It can't be downloaded from google docs currently :(

Did you File --> Mod List and actually download the mods to be installed?
 
I don't know what's the right forum to post this so I guess I'll write it here.
I once was able to store everything in a cache, but after installing some mods I can't do it anymore. :c
I always get the message "ERROR: texture could not be compressed". And yes I have it ON on the ff7_opengl.cfg compress_textures.
So why can't I? :c
 
It seems that i always get a crash after probably 30 minutes gameplay,,, i might be wrong but i think i read a post somewhere saying that if i disable error reporting   the crashes wont happen again .. Dont know if its meant for this

I have some errors. Such as ERROR: invalid version in polygon file STAGE67.P11 (the brown area around Midgar and near Junon) and therefore the enhanced field isn't loaded.
Also, some textures don't show when I use certain summons. For example Neo-Bahamut blast doesn't show at all; Bahamut Zero's blast doesn't show when it enters the sky right before blasting.
There are probably many more errors/missing textures like this but I've only tested with these 2 summons.
I hope it can be fixed or if there's a solution please redirect me. :( Thanks.
