Alright, thanks for the info everyone. I will see what I can do. Not a big deal anyway
Hi,
I try to search an answer for my problem in this thread, but I have not find anything.
Practically I have a strange bug : installation ok, start game ok, all fine until I take the first chocobo near the "chocobo farm". Make the combat, catch the chocobo, and when pops-up the window of how to ride the chocobo, the game stucks, keyboard out of use but the music goes on. The only thing I can do is press "Window" and close the game. Before bother someone on this forum,I fought "It's a little bug,try to go on". I arrived at "Rocket Town", all perfect until I took the Tiny Bronco after defeat Palmer. Same problem as the chocobo, pop-up window of how to drive the Bronco and again the game stucks. Here I can't skip, it's an obligatory step. I try to reduce shaders, resolution or whatever...but nothing. An help is appreciated.
Great work for the bootleg,however.
Hello Vieilocean, apologize for not making suggestion earlier, I think this is something about regions. No one can help me with this ?
Thanks for the answer. Very appreciated.Hello Vieilocean, apologize for not making suggestion earlier, I think this is something about regions.
You should use this FF7-Remove-keys tool after uninstalling and deleting all ff7 files and directories. Install the game, then use Kompass63's Game Converter, then try bootleg and see how that goes.
Need to be running a previous beta Catalyst driver version for ATI cards and moddedFF7: http://www2.ati.com/drivers/beta/amd_catalyst_13.5_beta2.exeAfter running everything I would launch the game, hear the sound, but there'd be 3 red triangles like the Triforce fromm Zelda (only way to describe it) with the start music running fine.
Tweaked a few config settings, then was getting a black screen, no sound, no errors.
Added FF7 and Bootloader to my Raedon HD 6900 series 3d application settings, same issue.
Re ran the BFE. Runs ok up to the GJ0RULV's FFVII Hardcor Patch.
I'm using the Re-release (2012) option as I assume this is what Steam version is, based off reading that it has a feature from this version.
Lots of issues with STEAM... I installed bootleg on a fresh steam build this morning to double check. Seemed fine.
Guys, Kompass63 has a new version of his Game Converter out.
I wanna suggest it for anyone having trouble with getting through the bootleg process itself.
Please completely uninstall STEAM itself in order to move it outside of the Program Files directories. (If it isn't already) If that's already been done and STEAM itself is outside your program files directories, then:
Use Kompass's Remove FF7 Keys utility to clean your registry.
Then install steam (outside the program files directories), then install ff7, the Game Converter, and finally, bootleg. Some people are having success with this method. Lets see if we are on to something.
And then it just stops. The window stays open, the setup program stays open. I have to end the process in task manager to close it.Installing Vincent's Animation Fix . . .

Is there any way at all to get the Romeo 14 AC Materia to actually install when using the Menu Overhaul? Are the specific png files for them located anywhere so I could just manually replace them in the \menu folder? ???
Install Bootleg, along with the game, in another folder than the desktop.Tried running bootleg and i get an error, "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. Access to the path C:\Users\Jon\Desktop\bootleg mod\BFE.ini is denied.
Yeah, I read in this thread or another that the Menu Overhaul overwrites the materia texture choice. I also did see your brightened materia textures there, too. I manually put them in the \menu folder, replacing the files of the same name to test them out. I was looking to see if anyone had the specific .png files for Romeo14's AC style Materia that would be otherwise installed by checking the box shown in the pic. I believe the materia shown above that are what they look like, but I'd like to see them in-game to decide if I like them or not. Hard to decide when the installation won't let me try, ya know?![]()
If you don't install the avalanche GUI (which isn't fully compatible with Menu Overhaul) these should work. They have been altered because I'm colorblind and the yellow and green were tough for me to tell apart. Credit goes to DLPB and of course to Romeo14. Idk if this is what you meant by AC materia, there's an option in bootleg for Romeo14 AC materia field models but they look very different from this.
They aren't perfect, I'm aware. I don't use them anymore and I don't remember how I got ahold of them. I think they just come from Menu Overhaul, but bootleg doesn't make it easy to get them to show up.

Not positive, but yeah pretty sure. Can't you tell the ones I uploaded are basically the same ones you linked to?Are you sure? I found an old closed thread started by romeo14 talking about his materias and he had screenshots of the menus.
Said thread: https://www.ff7catalog.com/threads/6271/
Megaupload doesn't exist anymore, though, so I can't even download the materias that he was showing off there, let alone the ones that are in bootleg front end.
