They are separate issues he's saying, I think, to turn shaders off and also, edit the file ff7opengl.cfg put a # in front of the line that says Load = Multi.dll for test
Yes, that's what I mean :)

@ Athmet:
If you have repaired the shaders, we can work on the next problem.
If you are turn off the multi.dll all other dll's also turned off (all are in the folder "LOADR").
If the game is working properly then it's up to one of the dll's.
Then you can gradually switch back to the dll's to see at which the error occurs (if it is ever to the dll's)

Hello,

I did turn off the shaders and put the # infront the load = multi.dll.

I tryed and launch the game : black screen but behind it was a windows error telling me there was a problem with FF7.exe. However I couldn't access to this window so I had to shut off FF7.

Here is the APP :

I keep getting this message about the ff7input.cfg in this report and others previously... not sure what to do with it.

Then it is not so on the shaders, but still let them out.
Also the DLL's do not seem to be the problem, but also let them out.

As a next step, we turn FF7Music off.
Rename the folder "FF7Music" and "Ficedula" into "-FF7Music" and "-Ficedula" (or whatever you like).
Do not be surprised if the game should work now, you have no music :-D

Some questions still
1) Did you use my Game Converter?
2) Is UAC on or off?
3) Is Antivirus on or off?

So, sorry again but still not working : however now, like the last time, the game is launching and I have a windows error about the FF7.exe.

As for your question :
1) I followed the steps described in this thread so not sure what you mean by your "game converter"
2) Yes UAC is off
3) I have no antivirus  :-[

1) Basically, the 2012 re-release and the 2013 Steam version need to be "converted" to the original 1998 PC version before most mods can be applied. Anyway, if you're using Bootleg as described in OP of this thread, then it should be doing this for you automatically. :)

Yes but, he's saying have they used HIS game converter, not the one that comes with bootleg.

I used Bootleg from the start that is for sure. Does that mean I need to uninstall everything and start over using his game converter before bootleg ?

Yes, and it may not help, so be prepared for disappointment. Then again, it may solve the problems. We haven't had a lot of people test Kompass's Game Converter yet, but I'd say it's worth a shot. You should use his FF7-Remove-keys tool after uninstalling and deleting all ff7 files and directories. Install the game, then use Kompass63's Game Converter, then try bootleg and see how that goes. No idea what's causing your issue so at this point I'd probably start over anyway.

Thanks! I got the Always Run option working, but it looks like I need to press Ctrl+F4 every time I start up the game. :(
Is there any way to change the default to ON? I never had to turn it on when I was using the Menu Overhaul.
Worked on this for longer than someone bright should... but I found how to install this and also where Gypt (skip movies) in Menu Overhaul came from. They are .exe patches created by Dziugo: for YAMP (Yet Another Multi-Patcher) which is a little tricky to set up. I had to look carefully at his screenshot before I realized I needed a "patches" folder inside my game menu. Anyway, here's the link for the Always Run Patch that they got working correctly, and here's Gypt. Yamp install file and .ex_ in the main, game directory, patch files all in the patches folder, then open the install.bat and itl patch your ff7.exe for you! If your computer explodes it was xLostWingx's fault.

Edit: and double post. I'd Smite myself but someone already did today :-P

Thanks for the tips. :)

But if I'm also using Bootleg, should I apply these patches before or after? I feel like I can't do both (if Bootleg is patching ff7.exe) since a patch would only work on the original ff7.exe...

After, bootleg doesn't necessarily alter ff7.exe, just menu overhaul does. YAMP wont even start trying to patch if ff7.exe isn't untouched. Glad you made me find these, cus I wanted them too...

Thanks. I'm reinstalling right now since I had installed the Always Run toggle thingy, which is different than this patch. I'll let you know how the patching goes. :)

(Although I know the Always Run toggle from Bootleg is a DLL, so perhaps I could just delete it? Anyway, better to let Bootleg figure it out for me. :-P)

Edit: Unfortunately, the patches do not work for me at all. The patching says it was successful, but I can press Ctrl+S all day and it never skips the opening FMV. Also, Cloud will not run unless I hold down Cancel. :(

Like I said it's tricky. Read the YAMP post by dziugo carefully. They do work. Need to put files in the right places. Itl say its successful even if you have them set up wrong and it just patches the file exactly the same as before. if you do it right the patcher will tell you each patch its instalkung individually before saying its finished.

Yes, I know how to read. :-P

I set the files up just like he said. Here is the output (the backup part is because I'm running it for the second time):

Code: [Select]
Code:
FF7.exe file restored from the backup (backup_ff7.exe)Applying patch: GyptInstantApplying patch: KrucisDefaultRunPatching donePress any key to continue...
I know it's a valid patch, but I can't get mine working somehow. :(

I'm going to try reinstalling Bootleg without the Difficulty Mode Switching. I'm sure that must do a bunch of funky things involving ff7.exe?

Mode switching doesn't work right AFAIK.  Pretty sure Alyza advises against using it.

Yeah, I've seen some people advise against it, but I never had any problems with it before.

But I guess there's really no reason to switch difficulties mid-game. I'll just play vanilla for now and re-install a different difficulty later if I want. :)

Sweet, the patches are working now! :D

(Freaking Mode Switcher, eh?  ::))

Oh, good; my bad thinking you did it wrong... I did it wrong repeatedly lol. I keep failing helping people lately, get's confusing when stuff works for you and no one else. If you figured that out so quick, you're smart. Can you tell me more about your menus in game without the menu overhaul installed? I can't get mine looking the way I want at 1080p. At 1280x960 the GUI from the Avalanche Hi-Res looks perfect... Bump it to 1920X1080 and it starts to show little artifacts. Did you end up just scrapping the menu changes altogether and using the old one? I tried that, no glitches but it looks... out of place and jagged. Skipping the Avalanche GUI and using the Hi-Res menu changes at 1080p is not too bad, the glitches are not very noticeable or distracting to me. I really missed the critical hit flashes (if they are really working now, I need more time to play with this setup, but I saw Cloud hit one and it went off, whole screen went white for a split second I think). And like you said, the end of battle black out sticks out pretty bad, too. Wish I could fix the stock looking Avalanche-Hi-Res Menus for 1080p without glitches.

It turns out that my GUI artifacts were coming from the "Internal Resolution" option in the Bootloader. Have you tried turning that off?

I'm using the Avalanche GUI and Hi-Res stuff at 1920x1200 and everything is looking great. :)

The only problem I'm having now is that the game seems to crash from time to time... Like maybe every 30 mins to 1 hour, depending on how lucky I am. I guess I'd better save every chance I get. ::)

Hmm, so I deleted everything and started over. After installing FF7 from Steam again, I searched for the file and found it under Steam\SteamApps\common\FINAL FANTASY VII\data\lang-en\battle. So if I install the mods again, but move the cam files to \data\battle, would it work? Just thinking out loud.

And again, thank you for your help, you're amazing.
I'm getting the same issues as you, it seems if you reinstall FF through Stream it places some files in data\lang-en\battle instead of just data\battle. Getting error when installing the Hardcore mod that it couldn't find scene.bin and then I get crashes on the first fight every time like you.

Thanks a million times !!!! It worked !!!! Thanks to all who have helped me through this !! :D

I guess Kompass converter must have done the trick ;)
