Just wanted to ask if this Mod only works with the purchases version of FF7 and no other ones such as free downloaded ones.

If you're using a Radeon video card, then try one of the complex shaders in Bootloader Configure. If that doesn't work, disable shaders completely.

There are no free downloads unless through piracy. You do need a purchased game though for all the mods to work properly. The 2012 re-release is very cheap and is supported by these mods.

Also would the Mod work on this version, just want to make sure before I go buying stuff >.<
I bought the rerelease on my self and every mods in Qhimm works fine with them. So you shouldn't have any problems ;)

Is the link I sent the one for the re-release? I need to know before I buy it as I want the make sure the mod works on that version as I can't find any other

Link: https://store.eu.square-enix.com/emea_de/pc-windows-download/FINAL-FANTASY-VII.php

If you buy the game, you get a loader. The loader will download the game and after downloading you can install the game. It doesn't matter wich language you install. If you use Kompass63 GameConverter you can install all the mods you can find in Qhimm. (Bootleg too)

The link of the GC: https://www.ff7catalog.com/threads/9466/ (Maybe Kompass forgot to say but the GC works with a english installation fine too ;) )

id like some help please. i purchased the game just to use this and it doesnt work for me at all, i get black screen after intro movie altho i can move the cursor, i get ingame and have no backgrounds and no Sound, jus character models, id really appreciate some help here to fix this , especially the sound.

Hi thank you all for the help, I purchased the game and I got the mods working, I am very pleased with it except for one thing.

The resolution.

I used the BootLoader to set the resolution to 1080 (1920x1080) but I keep getting an error message saying "Failed to set the requested fullscreen mode, reverting to original resolution window mode".

How do i fix the resolution?

Is it normal for the the game to lose it's sound whenever I switch windows?

Also if it is possible to use a PC game controller for this game, and if so, how do I configure it to work?

Sorry for all the questions, any help is greatly appreciated!

To use a controller, after launching the game don't press anything on the mouse or keyboard AT ALL. Then, skip the logos and load a game using your controller to navigate. Once in game, pause and go to config and map it the way you want. One side should say keyboard or something and the other should say joystick which is your controller.

Ah yes found it thanks!

Just curious... is it possible to change the mods once i've started. Just realised some of the Avatars I picked don't look right and I wanted to change them, is this possible without having to do the entire setup again?

No, you have to uninstall, then delete the installation folder manually, then it is optional to delete registry entries but is not usually needed, then reinstall and run bootleg again.

im aware the shaders dont affect sound, what i want to know is why they dont work? and what exactly am i loosing out on if i turn them off is there much diffrence? im using a radeon 6990, core i7 if that helps, latest drivers direct x, c++ ect.

shaders dont add much but im surprised they arent working at all with your gear. try different options in bootloader configurator like HDR shader etc. iirc some dont work on ATI cards but some do. Oh and I seem to remember there being something about people with intel's onboard graphics needing to specify which graphics card to use?

Just throwing some stuff out there.

For me, whenever FF7 crashes on startup it means my sound in the ff7config.exe utility isnt configured, the application will just close itself at opening movie. EG, if I switch my sound from HDMI out to the standard speaker jack thru windows, it requires a run through ff7config to reset the sound driver.
