The buttons are on the numpad (8 4 6 2 to move, 5 is start, . is select, 7 9 1 3 are the triggers, + is menu, - is assist, Enter is confirm, 0 is cancel). You can change the controls once in the game. If you don't have a numpad and thus can't start a new game, you need the Laptop Keyboard Patch.

Ok, so now I have met another problem regarding the windowed mode. I'm using the complex shader preset, and everything runs smoothly on the fullscreen. But when I uncheck the fullscreen-option and run the game in window, the game runs clearly more slow than on fullscreen. What could be causing this?

I honestly don't know, but it seems that many games run better in fullscreen than windowed mode. I've experienced that with not only FF7 but also other games such as TF2 or Portal. So I don't think that's something to do with the game, but I'm not 100% sure.

When you run a game in windowed mode, the game has a few extra steps to communicate with the graphics card. In fullscreen, it can take over, but in windowed it has to share and compete with your desktop compositor. This is true of any game. It's the same reason why games with a 'fullscreen windowed' mode or something similar perform worse in that than in proper fullscreen; all that desktop stuff is still being rendered in the background, and there's still an extra layer deciding what to show and what not to, and being ready in case you move or minimize any windows.

Well, I am really not sure, but I think there's a small chance it's related to the condor.lgp file. Not sure, though.

Joking aside, that's odd. I've never seen it happen before, and I'm positive that Bootleg does not touch all these files. It may alter a few, I'm not sure, but certainly not that many. Is there even a "condor.lgp" file in your data\minigame folder? Maybe it was mistakenly renamed. Did you install any mod after Bootleg? Did you install Bootleg twice? What version of the game do you have?

Well, the condor.lpg is in the minigame folder.

I installed bootleg only once but i was missing "yarLson Field Upscale" now im downloading it, i got the old PC version 1993? And the only thing i changed are battle and char.lpg.

You can try different options in the ff7_opengl.cfg to switch on or off.
One possibility would be for example to switch the shaders off

use_shaders = off

Open the cfg file with notepad, search the appropriate option and change the switch behind it.

I got a new laptop and am attempting to get bootleg again. When I press play in bootloader, a black command box appears and then disappears right away. I already checked several times that FF7Config had everything selected and in order as suggested by the FAQ. Something I noticed is that when I press 'Write CFG' in bootloader, it doesn't save any settings and when I go back in everything is blank.

I would post my APP.LOG, but I'm struggling to find it. The last time I downloaded bootleg on Windows 7 I had no problem finding it, but now on Windows 8 I can't find it or anything about it anywhere.

I can't say for sure for others but I had this exact issue yesterday after not loading the program for awhile. The boot-loader would load and then the black box shows and poof gone. Try to uninstall the game and then re-install as this fixed the issue for me. Nothing else I can provide but that. By all means though if someone knows what causes this I'd love to know for future reference and a easier fix.

That's an issue resulting from "Grimmy's Upscaled Magic Textures" pack.

The main issue you will encounter is on grey scale textures. For some reason if the original texture was in grey scale the mod path method doesn't properly remove the black that should appear transparent. The result is a black square around the magic spell. The way to fix this problem is to identify the offending texture. open the png in an image editor and delete the black leaving a transparent area. If you guys pm me or post up what textures are having this problem I'll put together a fix pack for them.

When I'm at home, I can post a list of all files suffering from that issue (at least all which I noticed during my playthrough).

Just a heads up EQ2Alyza, the torrent link in the OP (to all compatible mods) isn't working (although it's possible this is just for me). I have since managed to find your updated torrent on Kickass.to, which I had to access via proxy since I'm from the UK and my ISP doesn't allow the site *shakes fist*

Just wanted to let you know/ see if anyone else was having problems with the link.
