help me! even if i change settings the game start without any change!!!! what i have to do?
i use windows 7
When you change settings a batch file rewrite part of ff7_opengl.cfg in the main game folder, that process is absolute automatic and on my two system work.
For fix it check the write permission of ff7_opengl.cfg and run the game in an administrator account, in alternative open the configuration file with notepad and edit it.

Ok indrema i got a small issue.

I got original ff7, installed it.

Installed it to maximum installation.
then ran your patch. It patched everything ok ( folder content was all re writtable ).
BUT even if i change settings, EVEN by editing with the notepad myself game runs normally at fullscreen but at original resolution, not at 1920 / 1080 and character avatars are NOT the new ones. No crashes whatsoever, just the new customized parts are missing!

I basically get this in the APP.log

I think there's a problem on your original installation, to fix it remove from control panel every FFVII installation, then run this script and delete squaresoft folder (before it backup your Save folder).
After system cleaning:
1) Install the game from original CDs setting on "Maximum Install"
2) Install "Final Fantasy VII ITA Reloaded.exe" (you need the release 1.0.5) over the original installation directory, on write only protection question reply "Yes"
3) Set the properties option from "Final Fantasy VII Settaggi" desktop shortcut and run the game by clicking on "Final Fantasy VII ITA Reloaded"

I tried this one, followed all instructions but cannot bypass a problem.
After the initial credits I get a message error whic say something unhexpected happens and the game quit to windows.

Did you fix Squallff8's final PRP models?
One of them crashes the game in the Nibelheim mansion.
Also, the wrestler model is missing his eyes.
They are both easy fixes.
 
9999 limit in this compilation crashes the game when you go to Status Menu.

This bug was signaled in Aali's bug thread, but nobody cared about it, (or politely replied, to be honest  :|)

For the moment do not set "Enerigia e danni oltre 9999 > On", by default is off.

ok so...i've installed the game in maximum, and then i tried to install this compilation. Well i have 2 problems:
1- this is very stupid but..as i can see in the first page the program's window has several icons, i can't see them and i just have empty icons instead
2- i complete the procedure, i choose all the settings in the Reloaded window and then when i press "Run FFVII", nothing happens.

i don't know why, i tried to uninstall and reinstall all 5 times, and still i have this problem. can you help me please?

ok i managed to play, now i have only to udnerstand how to alternate mods and etc. ;)

oh i write here the problems for the others: bitdefender deleted the ff7.exe file as it was a trojan and so the application didn't start. For the icons' problems, the solution was to put again windows photo viewer as default program for images.
 
@PhobosTheMad: That's good, you have found the solution by yourself.

                              I installed three (3) times FF7 ITA with different configurations
                              to reproduce your problem. But with no success.

i had  to reinstall all cause i tried to put m004 and now i have this problem: even if i select the right unit with the disc i always have the message "insert the disc 1,2 or 3" and the game doesn't start -_-'
 
@PhobosTheMad: I had the same problem as i installed FF7 ITA without installing
                             FF7 english (Maximum) previously.
 
it's weird..cause i've installed it previously...i'l try to uninstall and reinstall all...for about the 100 time xD
